Well its seems its time for me to try those out, 6watts and 1500mA plus a new core is quite tempting but i wonder did anybody tried that working with Nanjg/105c or simillar driver? I am a bit conserned about its lower Uf- its max is 3.3v accoarding to the Osram I/V
Since obviously noone here has exp with those i ordered them anyway, both 850 and 940nm
Will keep you updated with the results vs the old Osram
Nice!
Oh thats interesting, especially if they turn out to be good ones and you start selling them like youve done with other emitters of yours ;)!
I mean, arent these hard to get shipped worldwide which usually results in high-per-emitter costs if ordering one or two emitters from china?
Depending on the price, I am in for 5 + 5 pcs
Initial test shows a pure 30% gain in meters tested with IR modded 1503 and H@K gen 3 monocle , Dedal 2+ gen and Proton Gen 3 IR scopes, but i have to visit the forest/field for future tests-prolly this weekend
The 940nm one is realy great, its core is very small respectively the beam profile is good and tight: and it runs relatively steady at 2amps( not that hot though the outside temps are under 0 atm)
Realy good improvement from Osram, i didnt expected this
P.S
I wont be reselling those, bought for personal needs, there are too many hunters/secutiry guards/millitary/police arround me anyway
Meh :D!
Well, at least can you do some “beamshots” to show how well these perform :D?
Ok, Mitko, not to derail this thread, but will any 2 amp driver do the trick for this LED?
Pay attention for the 940nm one, it runs hotter
I usualy use 105c linear drivers, cheap and reliable, can be made offtime easy too
Thanks ;)!
Plus, another thing and you should consider when using those, as the old ones you CANT use DTP MCPCB cause the the emitters core pad isnt electricaly neutral, if you do youll fry the emitter in no time
I see, yeah, already read about that, Ive found one source of previous gen black emitter on 10x10mm square pad, pitty that it has that donut hole, its from led.de(shipping is less than 9 euros which makes it worthy candidate).
Do you know of any sellers that sell IR LED’s and still have reasonable shipping to Europe?
Well i bought mine from Farnell, with the VAT and EU tax its like 7.3 euros per emitter
Leds de emitters are the old ones- leds de PCBS ait good m8, personaly i am using Singapoore brand, Opulent
The 850 nm is perfect, no donut stuff, the 940 has it but its quite small and most important is that its core is very small
I see, thanks, might I bother you(I know we all have stuff to do outside forums :D) with taking a look into this thread, Ive found what appears to be local source from intl company, but wouldnt mind more insights into IR world:
?
And where do you get your pads, Ive googled but no viable results came back.
