OSTS TN31 MB by Michael Johnson aka Saablaster 405Kcd

Take a look at this: 405Kcd !

Sheez…does that thing have an optional recoil pad? :open_mouth:

buckle your seat belt and hold on tight.

Almost 300$!

ordering one now!

I’ll buy it as soon as I can find a practical application for it.

… have to admit tho it does look pretty darn uber cool

Practical applications are as follows:

Slicing limbs off zombies
De-railing freight trains
Illuminating wildlife 3/4 of a mile away and watching them get confused

A Zeppelin hunter !

This must be the king of throw, now.

i agree - even my vpt3 with sbt90/aspheric combo might not even be able to take it down

well see when it gets here!

Does anyone know HOW they got to this point?

Would be interesting to learn how they did it.
It doesnt look like they have changed the reflector for example…

I wonder how!

xpg2 direct mount to copper… its probably driven to 2-3 amps I would guess as well

Kevin (lambda) also did a varapower with the xpg2 direct mount to copper at close to 3a with good results

the xpg2 has a smaller die than the xml - aka a smaller more intense beam with less of the lumens going into the spill

And remember, too, your only getting 2000hrs runtime out of the LED. So your going to have a much shorter life than normal.

Okay… if that`s true, it doesn`t look too difficult then

(though I think soldering it onto copper could be a bit difficult, personally)

it sounds like it was a pain to get the led to focus properly from his description

:open_mouth:

How do you guys know it was a XP-G2? I don't think it said that anywhere, either way: I want!!!

It says so!

I’ve been dodging the TN31 from the original $232, $139 with Ti, $130, $110, but not this time….ordered one.

Here it says it … The light now sports an XPG2 and direct to copper mounting.

here is a tn31 with xpg-2 on copper with ~4a

the vpt has about 200k lux

The light now sports an XPG2 and direct to copper mounting.

When you click the link it’s right towards the top(4th sentence).
