I see these Oveready lights being sold at what seems crazy prices:
$400-700 USD or more or the weirdly spelt Moddoolar V5 triple Heads.
Is there a DIY way to get the same output and ‘functions’ …Ramp down programming etc etc ?
Are these available from the likes of Richard at Mtn Electronics?
I’d like to try one but even the cheapest seems like extortion
I’ve not experimented much with multiple cells in series. That’s where the BOSS shines. I believe Mtn Elec sells a FET driver with the ZENER mod, so it can handle two 3.7v lithium ion cells.
Yes, those torches are expensive. Small run machining, excellent components and literally the most advanced flashlight driver available on the planet. Look into Serge’s work, it really is astounding.
whose driver is that on the left?
Does it have a different color secondary LED?
Can it be programmed by a computer screen?
Output levels based on number of cells present?
I can confirm that Mtn Elec. Do have drivers for series lithium, I only know about single LED drivers, as I have x2 x3 and x4 by 18650 lamps here all made with drivers/LED boards from Richard. Built in to long throw (72mm?) UF 1508 bodies . I bought 5 of them from alibaba.com and combined the body tubes to make different length lamps.
Interested to know if those multiple led boards pictured do have same functionality as the BOSS boards, and what they are.
I did ask Richard about the BOSS llights and he reckons he has components for S2/S2+. builds that will outperform the BOSS, but he did not spec a component list.
The driver on the left is a headlamp including nano-switches. Product of the Czech engineer. 2 XPL + 2XHB, power supply 3- 25V, BUCKBOOST charger 3-25V.The cheapest and „stupidest” driver of those that man produces. Programming via monitor and many other features. Lux-RC is said against it completely stupid. Unfortunately, the author does not want to tell me more.
Nano switch? What is that? I have a hunch the name is cooler than the product.
But still, if you have any reference to the driver, it would be interesting.
I don’t know what you consider reasonable but you can buy the board on overready right now for about $120 you can buy a P60 drop in for $212 or wjen they are back instock an a body head for $240 so any of those will get you the same functionality for a fraction of the cost.
