Wow! That is awesome. It must be a fairly powerful light considering it shows up that bright on a 7 minute exposure. It probably is an aspheric since it is a line like that, or maybe a low powered laser pointer? :D

Light painting is an old photo trick, but one very cool application of it is to selectively light up nature scenes at night (you can do this over many minutes) to create “surreal” images. Or other sorts of scenes, too: Light Painting a B-25 Bomber - Make:
Nope. As soon as I realized what I did wrong I started writing it backwards with the flashlight. It took me a few tries but finally figured it out. I had more problems with the 'S' for some reason.
