I don’t believe that they stopped producing one of the most popular cells on the planet They probably just have more strict control to whom do they sale them, no more chinese “greentech” companies that are making electromobiles on paper but in real life packing cells with protection pcb and selling them individually.
NCR18650B’s are in high demand and Panasonic is having difficulties keeping up with demand. TESLA is largely to blame.
They have not stopped making them, and 2 of my suppliers just got fresh stock of NCR18650B’s. However, the price did increase sightly due to supply/demand.
