Wow
Please don’t get your hopes up.
We aim for a double tube but it seems worse case on this part is a shorty tube with just 4 cells, still better then no tube
So it is either one not both I think.

Guys please stop quot same thing making a mile post……
I believe that there will be no option for short tube since with that size of head it would be ridiculous……

Point well received, answered for now. In case of news on this, we will post it ASAP

Ah here is the GT proto with the shorty tube:

And another one clearly showing a little nut screwed into the tripod mounting hole.

The light looks very big, want to know if it’s easy to hold or not?

That looks hilarious like that. You never know, they might sell the short tube as an after thought to make a few extra $$$. Can’t be that expensive to make and if they sell it separately they can rake in some extra cash.

If looks were a factor on this light, I’d expect to see silencer designs on the head and a spoiler on the tailcap.
VTEC-GT!
Or that crazy nitecore bezel with the dangerously tall scalloping.
On a serious note, am I to understand that the whole 8-cell design was solely to balance the GTs aesthetics? It did feel like a little overkill for just one LED and I figured there was some other reason for accommodating for so much power (eg. Future redesign for a x80 killer). Am I thinking too far into this?

The dual carriers in parallel or one large carrier with 4series 2 parallel are/is for balance and if course runtime
With this much cooling the GT can be used in a high mode for a long time

it’s a beautiful day for π
Battery wise, i agree with a short tube option, estethically, it needs even MORE CELLS, that thing looks short already!
However, i’d love to have it

I think the short tube is completely stupid looking and the balance is most likely horrible but this will be easier to tell once the prototype is in hand.
Regardless of the tube length, you will be able to use only 4 cells if you desire. Plus as a side benefit you could use cheap laptop pull cells in it without an issue due to the higher voltage and low current of this light.

I like it, I wouldn’t mind spending extra as an aftermarket part, maybe put a handle on the back like in the Polarion and it would look cool.

I would buy a shorter tube if available, who cares what it looks like, it will be more compact. Carrying an a strap it would be much less cumbersome.

Yep, you could use the short tube depending on where you’re going or what you need the light for. It actually looks pretty cool.

Can we do a short tube with extension? So everyone can consider how to use the flashlight.
