The production “green light” comes from The Miller and his team, once they approve the light they give the go ahead to Lumintop. Where we are now is in the provenance stage, Lumintop is making sure of how many “I’ll take one!” are serious about it.

Last email I had with Neal about it was ~400 payments, more have paid after that.
We plan on doing a second PM for the number of people who have canceled and some more. There were a few politely asking for a few more days, they will not lose their spot this second PM
I am going to ask Neal to email me a list to post the confirmed payments.

Honestly I think I did a poor job. There was a lot of negative posting and thus hard to follow thread, the sheer size and heft could be a reason it is hard to get that what is made will be sold. I should have been able to convey this and by doing so make sure this double payment thing would he unnecessary.
But I kind of missed this way of looking at it for I was distracted by the tax things making a down payment seem smart to deal with that.

No, you didn’t do a poor job.
This is a huge and never done before project, it would be impossible that everything went flawless.

Yes some things could be better and smoother but you learn from mistakes/problems.(!)

You have been doing a great job considering this is the first time this kind of thing has been done here!And it has been very time consuming.There has been so many variables here that it would have been practically impossible to think and do everything.

And this is a good practice for this kind of special group-buys. Next time it will be easier.(Q16?)

This 2-part paying plan with a down payment is actually good way to do it with the pricier purchases when there are no exact ready to ship dates and there are bound to be delays.This way both parties can have some commitment and assurance for things to come.

Lumintop is in this project because they believe in the BLF GT team and this great design to get the best thrower in the market. Maybe there are some things to learn, but this will be a succes. In the end everyone wants this GT as it will be the new standard in reaching the stars of flashlight heaven.
