You say you have a “picture of it first hand”… remember we are talking about GTs that are now offered by Lumintop to the public. That means Lumintop has told you and even showed you a “picture” of the reflectors for the general public for you to give definitive judgement.

With all due respect Mr, teacher, your pronouncement about the reflector is nothing more than speculative opinion and refraining from such speculative opinions yet given as facts will help this thread and steer it away from additional confusion.

Again, only the facts from the GT members, please.

Tatasal, why would you even ask such a question in the first place? Are you hoping someone will say:

“Yes, they are perfectly smooth like a mirror. The Led is even brighter in the direct sale lights. They measure 3.6 miles as well. My buddy was on the moon and he told me he saw the GT being waved around down on Earth”.

He asked a legitimate question, and got answered by speculation. And now is getting jumped all over. There is no “retail” lights yet, so anything is speculation. Will they slow down the process to make the reflectors better when they are selling the light for full price? Who knows. Will they find a better process to make a smoother finish in the near future? Who knows. I do know that they will not get the LED much brighter because it is already being driven pretty hard. Will they put a different emitter in the retail version? Maybe.

Well then, I think we have issues if they are selling them to the public now with out completing the group buy.
Lumintop was not supposed to be selling them until everyone in the group buy had been taken care of

Is it written somewhere in agreement? I think maybe Lumintop thinks they are finishing up batch 1 and batch 2 very soon. So they decided to run retail sale concurrently to earn more profit. I don’t blame Lumintop for this but I hope it doesn’t impact groupbuy too much. I chose DHL but i’ve still not yet received my light, paid on 10 Dec.

Looks like at least two got their GT through retail.

I don’t have the same question nor concern as AlexGT’s about the reflector, I just wanted to point to teacher, because his reply was a definitive NO, I wondered how on earth was he able to give that conclusion (about the gb reflector the same as in the Lumintop sale to the public, the concern of AlexGT) when he (teacher) has not presented evidence or first hand information as the basis of his “NO” answer to AlexGT.

Nothing personal to anyone, I just want to suggest that this thread will be better off if we only get Hard Facts from the GT members, and volunteers like teacher and JasonWW, while I appreciate the numerous times they both helped this thread, with all due respect their numerous speculative answers to does not make life easier either.

I know there are a few other threads have been started for different topics but I don’t know where or for what so I’ll just ask here,
Does anyone happen to know what the GT’s overall total weight is with cells…??
And for the funny wise guys/gals, I know heavy, but I’m thinking in lbs or kilo’s would be real helpful,

That is darn heavy, I’ve been running with only one loaded carrier at the tail end and it balances the light out nicely and takes a bit of weight off the head, never thought about the weight of cells.

I meant people might mistake you were asking the question that AlexGT asked because you were in the discussion requesting hard fact to support the answer. Actually I also thought you were the one asking until you pointed it out it was AlexGT. Maybe this thread has grown too long and too much to read properly. :sunglasses:

I think they were supporting this thread well, some questions might be too difficult to answer 100% correct due to a lot invisible uncertainties.

Looks good, What resistor did you use and have you measured the new parasitic draw?

To my eye, it looks like he found a proper sized clear cover. I’ve looked all over for them and came up zilch. Since its Kawiboy I’m betting he found one on one of his many, many project/parts lights. I’m sure he has a big stash. Lol

Hey, I modded some clear 14mm ones to work.

I just got it squeezed through the metal ring.

After seeing your photos it seems obvious what you need - the black silhouette of the Lumintop bunny on the button so he looks like he is sitting right in front of the moon just like the legend of their logo states.

I updated post #4 with run time charts.

I believe the 35E should perform very similar to the Panasonic 3400mah cells used in the test.

Basically at 2A, the 30Q and 35E perform the same, but the 35E gives a bit longer run time once it drops out of regulation.

At 2.5A, the 30Q gives a bit more output initially, but drops off more quickly.

Let me know if you have any questions. I will try to explain post #4 as best I can and update it with clearer data.

I also updated post #3 with some nice pictures. Steel_1024 gave me the okay to use some of his really nice pics, plus I used some from Texas_Ace as well. I’m sure he won’t mind. Lol. I still need to add some beam shots.

Someone was asking about DHL declared values a while ago… but I can’t find fhe post.

But I can verify what it was on three shipments to the USA.

• My cousins / NO batteries / $25

• My two / both WITH batteries / $30 each

That’s what i guessed some posts back

People with batteries got their flashlight declared with 30$ value .

I find some mods to go overboard, but overall the community is great at CPF. I don’t get all the knocking of CPF (except for some mods) with shit like this here. Every time I’ve started to read BLF more I’ve run into this. I originally didn’t come here because some very shitty theives in the community were well respected here. I realize that’s not the majority here, but then when others seemingly well respected members act this way it’s a turn off.
