I am really frustrated by this wait 1 minute to edit your post..it should not count as posting..I can see the need to have a 1 minute wait between posts, but not if you're editing your own post..is there any way to change this?
It's part of he new anti spamming protection on the site. There is no way around it that I know of.
well I guess it's a necessary evil then..I just hate posting then seeing a typo or wanting to add something and getting that wait 1 minute message..guess i'll have to condition myself to re-read everything..
Is it annoying when your trying to do a quick edit, but not as annoying as the spammers.

does it have anything to do with spam though? the reason spammers are going away is because they are being marked as spam by the users and then they are getting tossed..I cannot for the life of me see why not being able to edit your post for 1 minute is a spam blocker..the spammers post and never edit their posts..
and for the record..just asked if it could be changed..has nothing to do with being ungrateful..
I always need to edit posts right after I save them. I hate leaving my mistakes out there even for the minute hoping nobody sees them. Just have to get used to it and reread my posts before I save. I would rather deal with that than the spammers.
i was just thinking same thing while making three edits in a row (because i cant type apparently) then saw this thread. but i dont post that often anyways and should proof read before commiting a comment i guess.. blah laughs

I too wish a distinction between new comment and edit comment could be made in drupals code or spam rules.

I believe there should be an option to have a spell checker in the post menu. I have seen it in many forums. Or there is also a downlodable one that works with forums. Possibly our Admin could look into that and let us know if it's something that will work in this forum.
Another option is to use a third party forum post program where you can make your post offline (including photo, video and html links), spell check it and just copy/paste when you go online to the forum. I need to find that file again, LOL.

If you use Firefox it has a spell check built in, just right click and select check spelling.
It is very annoying but if it cuts down on spammers then I can live with it.
