Parts supplier

Just wondering where you get the parts you need for mods.
I know of FastTech and RMM.
Since I’m just starting out in flashlight mods what are some other places I should look at?
And what places should I avoid?

Thanks
Randy

Buy everything from RMM as long as he has what you want/need. - If he doesn’t have it, ask him.

If the answer is “no”, only then stoop to Slumin’.

What are you searching for? Drivers, wires, leds, springs?

Yes to those + reflector isolators, hosts to build.
I’m new to building but Richard(RMM) is my first stop always

I haven’t shopped them all. I started out going to DX and Kaodomain, then IS (now Illum), CNQG (odd processing software), International Outdoor Supply (good stuff there), BangGood, GearBest. Never made it to Manafont, Tmart, or Aliexpress. Nowadays it’s pretty much RMM, Illum, Fastech, CNQG, and IOS for mod parts, though I’ll still peruse DX and KD occasionally. What bugs me about them is the pages of items they haven’t stocked for years. And digikey and mouser of course.

Places to avoid is a bit of a crap shoot since just about every seller has at one time or another been flamed by a disappointed customer. Most of the Chinese distributors will get your stuff to you in 4-6 weeks with the free shipping option and offer faster shipping at a higher price. I’m cheap and generally patient so guess what I do. Wrong or missing items is not uncommon but if you can keep your shirt on and be patient and civil, much more often than not you will be able to sort it out. Just remembering how dirt cheap this stuff is will go a long way to helping you deal with issues when they arise. $$it happens and business ethics are not notably globally uniform. In my case I’ve been fortunate to have satisfactorily resolved each and every problem but the longest took ~8 months to resolve(mostly I believe because email is not as sure a thing as most people seem to think).

I forgot to mention a few other places for parts like Cutter Electronics and Future Electronics. Cutter was a mainstay for me for a long time early in my mod career.
