ps3 has its gems too, i enjoyed demon souls, the killzone, infamous, and ratchet and clank series, and of course the last of us (still havent played it fully). right now the main games im working on beating is darksiders 1 & 2, i have them on pc but it can barely run them so i picked em up at gamestop for the thanksgiving sale and ive just now finally got around to them. God of War was one of my favorites on ps2 so im planning on getting the god of war collection and god of war 3 eventually.

I think that bluesword thinks of it like music. If your friend gives you music, someone bought it. If you pirate you are disconnected from it being bought at all.

The thing I have against this sort of argument is used games do not give any money to the developer, so I don't think of it as a big deal.

It feels more moral for sure though, but it doesn't really make sense.

So this time you’re neither having the original hardware nor the original software. Sounds like double Piracy to me.

Correct. Another point is these sites allow sharing of ROMs and BIOS which nintendon’t and stoney won’t take it lightly.

Never meant no other console other than PS2 have their own gems, but it is a fact that they don’t make em in the same numbers like they used to.

Well I got the PS3 yesterday.

It was shipped from New York to California in a hurry.

The PS3 and controller seem to be in very good condition despite being used.

I installed Persona 5 and played it a little.

The graphics are a big step up from PS2, which is to be expected.

I need to watch a Blu-ray movie to test the Blu-ray drive.

I'm not going to install the 1.5TB hard drive until I'm sure I want to keep the PS3.

So far I'm happy with this purchase.

EDIT: Forgot to mention...

The eBay seller said the PS3 was like new, in excellent condition, which is one reason I chose that auction.

So far it seems like he was telling the truth.

Another thought...

If anyone is looking for nice and inexpensive HDMI cables, these seem to be pretty good:

https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Rankie-2-Pack-Latest-Standard/dp/B00Z07XQ4A

I got them today yesterday and they work better than the HDMI cable I was using.

EDIT: My old HDMI cables had annoying audio feedback.

did your old hdmi cable cause any artifacts on the screen?

No, visually they work fine.

glad the ps3 worked out for you, hopefully you'll find its worth keeping. I know when i modded my wii some of the games wouldn't work, have you read about any problems with downloaded games not working on the ps3?

I haven't read that, but I haven't researched that either.

I know some games cannot be installed to the hard drive.

For those, you need to burn a Blu-ray.

you might wanna try some of them extra grippers which you can snap onto to them analog thumbsticks.

I don't know about other PS3 controllers, but my PS3 controller is super-grippy.

oh thats cool, i had no idea you could burn them to a blu ray and play them that way

Are you sure that you need to burn it to bluray? What games need that? Mine is broken... maybe I should take the bluray apart and use it as a laser. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53GJJHwQ8BA

This website has an incomplete (and complicated) list of which games can install to the hard drive, and which can not:

http://ps3.kmaxsl.info/

It hasn't been updated in a while, so not all games are listed.

So, I learned the hard way that the PS3 and 1.5TB internal drives are not 100% compatible.

I thought there was something wrong with the 1.5TB hard drive, so I returned it and got another one.

The replacement also didn't work.

I did some research and found out that 1TB internal drives are compatible.

So I need to return the second 1.5TB drive and order a 1TB drive.

I feel like an idiot, but I'm getting free returns with Amazon, so i only wasted time and effort.

Live and learn!
