Please help, Avoid XML PWM Flicker??

Not sure if this has been done before, but I find MED/LO mode PWM flicker unbearable, and extremely annoying. Which XML lights do you own that have a visible PWM at the lower output modes?

Conversely which XML lights do you own have no visible PWM?

thanks!!

the nanjg 105c and the V2 driver have PWM but it is so high that its effects don't exist..my zebralight h600 and sc600 as well as my sunway v60c and t20cs all are current regulated..my 980l, 3-mode xml manafont drop-in and my uf-v2 have horrible pwm..the intl-outdoor drop-ins have decent PWM..it's only noticible on medium and is about the same as the DRY..which is decent also..

Which light in particular bothers you?repeating what pounder said but the new 3.04a nanjg 105’s are great and depending on compatibility, driver swap would be a good, low cost solution.Conversely,to answer your question, higher end lights like thrunite cat v3 and sunwaymans show no PWM at all on medium and low. Most budget lights have this problem, par for the course.

Anything with a Nanjg driver which is most of my lights now and the DX XML drop in. The Manafont/Ultrafire 3 mode drop in the 980L and the C-88 are the worst.

My older ITP-A3 definitely bugs me (100Hz IIRC). I have some DIY P60 drop in builds that also PWM like crazy. I am just trying to get a consensus really, I am not targeting any specific kind/or type of XML design. I just want to get broad feedback form anyone willing to reply... if its XML and it PWM flickers visibly, please share that experience.

My new HD2010 uses PWM for low modes but it must be such a high frequency, because I don't even notice it.

thanks!!

The pseudo strobes are very annoying and I don't own a non-strobe-mode out-of-the-box XM-L light yet. The 3-mode Uniquefire UF 2100 has one real strobe mode, but the low and the high mode have a very high PWM frequency. All my other XM-L dropins are low PWM and even the Shiningbeam S-Mini I just got has visible PWM on med and low. Luckily the high mode is only 1A on the S-Mini. The problem is that most XM-L lights are driven so hard, that I rarely use the non-PWM high mode, but low-PWM ridden mediums. I don't understand why the manufacturers are not going for +4kHz frequencies, it should be a code line in the driver program... are too many people complaining about the whiny noise some of those driver emit, or are people worried that the high frequencies affect runtime too much?

Low pulse width modulation sucks .

But the only time I notice it is when I'm riding my bike . The road and my bike tires look funny .

And not Ha Ha funny .

I only notice when i shake the light violently back and forth (ghetto light show) for my baby boy. Also if i happen to capture it on video...its like they're all strobe modes.
