I am exactly the same way with the short-mid range. The closer things are, the warmer i like them. Now you mention it. My W1 is rather nice at longer distances.
The simple mode bit is pretty important for this one. Anduril is simpler to get in and out. But the convoy is significantly cheaper.

Yeah ok. I, thinking the extra 2amps on an sft40 would be well used also. Especially considering the thermals.
My current m21a holds brightness for an extended period exceptionally well.
L21B is getting too big.
The minister for finace can decide from here. M21a or dm11.

The DM11 with SFT-40 is $42… which isn’t that much more than the Convoy. If you don’t have an Anduril UI flashlight, this is a great way to have one.

Oh i have several. Hanks are awesome. Candle mode on a super warm is a revelation. Thats how i know it will be more than that.

Regarding M21A. I looked at several reviews on that light not one of them mentioned how far the light throws. Do you have any idea what the CDs are? Thanks
Oh.yes?. I would recommend the TS11. I got it for $26 and that’s with an 18650 extension tube which I use for much better run time. It’s about 1500 lumens after 30 seconds and about 95Kcd.
It can still fit in your pocket even with the 18650 tube. However, I prefer holsters which I have for this light. And other lights.
Its 4 7/8" w/ 18650 tube and just under 3" with 18350.
EDIT: I had it with the SFT40.
It has exactly the same reflector as C8+. So whatever kcd you find for C8+ will be exactly the same (assuming same emitter ofc). Somewhere in the area of 150,000 to 200,000.
