Pokemon go & Power Banks 2016

I’m a 8-10 hour gamer and it got me to walk 30km in 3 weeks. I don’t think there’s any app that could motivate me that much. Meet new people, go outdoors and enjoy nature. Actually look at your own city and what’s changed. Social acceptable, not awkward like tinfoil hat pakour urban hipsterish esoteric Ingress.

30km for hatching eggs or just stops and hunting?

Forgive me, but I had to laugh. Not at you, just in general, how it’s “not awkward” adults catching pokemon, hitting up others to know if there’s anything good around. Looking at it from the outside / half outside (installed but haven’t played around people much) it feels a little awkward.

I hear it can be fun / funny to setup lures, 10 people can appear out of nowhere in 10 minutes. Even if it’s raining.

Instinct, Mystic, Valor Team Viny Decal Holographic for a little bling.

If I was really into it I might put one on my phone. but perhaps it’s better to be on stealth about your allegiance. Ask to know.

Agree. Anker is pretty good when it comes to mobile chargers. I used an Anker Astro E4 for about two years. Could charge my iPhone 5S for about 5-6 times but that number decreased rapidly after a year. I guess one of the battery cells stopped working.
Not sure about the QC thing, but I guess that is just for Android.

Yeah, agree with the fake capacity claims. The thing is that the manufacturers are referring to the internal capacity and not to what you can put into your phone. There is always some loss due to voltage conversion, heat generation blah blah blah. So normally you can get only about 70-80% out of it.

I would not suggest buying in a retail stores. Compared to Amazon I find that Walmart, Staples, Target etc are extremely overpriced. And when you buy on Amazon I’d say the prices not only depend on the capacity but also on how many ports they have, additional technology like smart charging, and if they put real cells or sandbags inside… no kidding, I saw pictures where some no-name powerbanks were filled with sandbags.

Sometimes you can also wait for deals that appear on Slickdeals. Especially during Black Friday there should be some real awesome deals coming in. I remember last year a deal for a 26K mAh Anker one that was really hot. But can’t find it anymore.

If you don’t want to wait, I just bought myself the ChargeCube 20800mAh from Askborg. They currently run a promotion on Amazon. 3 USD off with Code WXGTCOUD. 27.99 sounds reasonable and reviews look ok.

A lot of the power bank units don’t come with the built-in AC adapter. So, it is far better paying for it separately with the power bank to easily charge it for the potential use to recharge your cellular devices.
