I am open to different ideas for greeting pics.

Men (like the suit-guys mentioned earlier) and attractive women with (more or less) equal amount. This also gives more variation for more pictures

I have no problems to see some good lookin men as greeting

This is my favorite idea I have read so far, and I have been reading every suggestion.
If I like an idea, I’ll say something.
If I don’t like an idea, I’ll most likely not say anything.
(I’m really picky, and I don’t want to say “no” over and over again because that’s too negative.)

Should the time-honoured greeting style change, changing it to match assumed straight preference makes it overtly sexual as opposed to each user getting the same category of image. User’s gender, even if disclosed, does not inform their preference.

That said, I don’t think there is an expectation to be presented with sexually attractive content upon signing up for a light forum, the best, most inclusive greeting should be something non-sexual. Cute animals, gorgeous landscapes, impressive feats of engineering, or indeed very cool lights, there’s so much non-sexually attractive imagery to choose from.

I just saw the survey results, 21% would like to see horrible pictures instead of always the same sexy girls, even Racoon get bored, so I was thinking we can post real horrible face instead of just the ones from horrible movie?

I am okey to post beautiful faces too, if the horrible ones are really too horrible.

Also, to always show beautiful girls is maybe not fair to ugly girls or guys. It’s like discriminating ugly people from “Welcoming on the forum”(?)

Inclusion is very important, I think… 21% is a lot of people too, we should consider that minority as part of the majority, to be equally fair with everybody?

Agreed 100%. The pictures of women for new posters are pretty cringe (and not in the good way).

I’ll second the Landscape or Engineering picture idea.

I agree. This is a flashlight forum so at least keep it at least loosely lighting related. Came up with a couple suggestions let me know what everyone thinks:

Im all for movie scenes with flashlights in use. There is a lot of them and can also be from any genre, especially common in horror.

Another good idea is pictures of impressive flashlight beamshots, even if they are edited or exaggerated looking, they are still cool and tie in with outer space if the night sky/ galaxy is visible

I also really enjoyed the attractive flashlight idea which someone suggested. There is plenty of cool/rare/popular/expensive/powerful lights that would be suitable to use in a greeting photo.
