I want that Vega!

Forget the Vega, I want the time machine that allowed us to travel into the future where something from my high school ages got to be 50 years in the past.

It seems (at least to me) that time capsules are no longer “a thing” nowadays…

Growing up, 25+ years ago, I could have sworn there was someone burying a time capsule seemingly every single year? Perhaps I’m just remembering “time capsule mania” occuring around the millennium?

My hypothesis is that with the proliferation of digital cameras, people don’t feel the need to preserve “stuff” so much any more, as there’s photographic records of it.

Not sure what would be going in one today… Taylor Swift vinyl, a MAGA hat, Ukrainian flag and tin foil to protect from that 5G radiation … :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

No more Sn foil or even Al foil, but conductive cloth.

Check out The Big Clive…

Don’t forget to put in a “Crypto” coin.
No one would really know if it was in there, because they are vapor

I’m still kicking myself about the ride all the way up there. If I put in 10kbux with a 20% trailing stop, I’d be filthy rich.

I used to help out at the local historical society and they said people would often save things like tapes or movies but without anything to play them with they were basically useless.

They told me about a donation they got that was in a box from a long closed business. The person donating the item put it in that box many years ago and figured what was in the box was valuable. The people at the historical society were really excited about the box but not that excited about what was in the box. It reminded me of people getting a gift for a toddler who only was interested in the box.

Just think of all the flashlights you could buy then.
