Probably another Ebay Scam

Found this, probably not worth the bother:

Looking at the pic you don’t get a sense of the size of that toilet plunger

here is another pic to make it more evident…

Hmmm…. At looking at the ad with the reflector, it seems like there are 3 bond wires and paths on the phosphor surface. Not an XM-L2? They are XML. Also looks like a plastic reflector. There is no way they have these to sell. If it is even legitimate they are trying to get an order of 50 - 100 units to get a good enough price. I’m convinced of it. If this is a real auction which I seriously doubt, these people who purchased are going to be waiting a very long time to get their flashlights. But 30 dollars? No, I don’t believe it.

This? http://www.ebay.com/itm/151637517611

It is no auction. It´s for sale for 29.95. Fraud, no doubt!

I have purchased this item from this ebay dealer. Took 25 days to get here. No shelf. :_(

Yep. scam. (Their antics can correlate the pattern with the feedback, sales history, etc with other past known scammers that were caught and shut down.
ebay is getting plagued with scammers lately and they don’t seem to be able to keep up with shutting them down. for every one they manage to catch and close, another 100 pops up.

Ebay does not care enough about their buyers to fix the problem.

285 of these have sold and I can’t find any feedback for them looking back 500 feedbacks.

I think you can buy it without any worry... Ebay protects their buyers ad it is very harsh to international sellers. You can't even loose penny with this and 55$ for such light sounds good.

Oh I know the protection is there. I was just posting these for curiosities sake.

Seems legit.
Few reasons why i don;t own one of these lights yet that kept me from buying one is that most of them are way under driven, ( mainly due to the limited heat dissipation with cramming so many XM-L emitters in a head with not enough metal to carry the heat away) and if they are modded for more amps, the run time is mere minutes as single 18650s or 26650’s is series can’t provide the amps. These need at least 8 18650’s with a 4P2S set up to provide 20 amps or more of searing burst in turbo mode, then good usable run times in the lower modes while still pushing a good lumen output, added with more metal meat behind the emitters and the head to provide better cooling.

Has anyone actually managed to mod one of these 15X or more emitter toilet plunger lights to a measly 1 amp or more per emitter yet?

A flashlight that big brings back memories when police brutality actually meant something.

Yes these flashlights would make one hell of a mod project. :open_mouth:
I remember years ago when I bought a 4D maglight. Everyone was floored by the light output. :open_mouth:
Now its just sitting in my closet dying a slow death. Too much work to mod.

I would love to see what they used for heatsinking… Those are probably shelfless too… :frowning:

yep great Billy club, and no need for expensive batteries, just fill it with sand or lead J)
