Probably Dumb Shipping Question

I just receives a tracking number from CN Quality Goods and it is apparently a Singapore post one as it ends in SG. My first ever order with CNQG. So why would a Chinese company ship from Singapore when the package does not have batteries in it? Reading threads here I know that the Chinese companies are doing some weird stuff in order to air ship batteries but I do not understand this case.

To hold down costs, many companies use ‘hybrid’ shipping. That is a private carrier to a point where the parcel is turned over to the Post Office. Often these private carriers have special ‘deals’ with the post office they use (or in some cases, the Post Office they use is in fact a major shareholder in the company). Fedex, DHL and UPS all offer this type of service within the USA. The rub is the tracking numbers provided a time of shipment do not track until the parcel is turned over to the Post Office (This was a problem with BT-C3100 charger group buy from GearBest).
