Problem with Acebeam H30

When in turbo I often get 3 off blinks or it just turns off altogether. Sometimes there is a little buzz sound when it switches off. I am using the cell that it comes with. I charged the cell fully beforehand.

It works fine in non turbo modes.

I don’t have another 21700 to try except Olight ones which are customised.

I have emailed Acebeam but no response so far.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I didn’t get any useful response. I did try the eBay seller but they wanted a video showing the fault and also to pay for shipping, fortunately only to the UK. I don’t know why these companies can’t employ at least one native English speaker.

I ended up buying another cell which seemed to fix the problem. I am not impressed though and I will think twice before ever buying another Acebeam.

I haven’t seen such a complete headlight (with red and green led included, which is essential for me) that last 8,5 hours on 400 lumen.
Ok it uses a different battery with quite more MAh (5500).
Unfortunately over $100 is way over my budget for a headlight.

Just a tip: Not sure where you’re from but if you’re from EU try to buy from an official EU company.
By EU law they are forced to provide you with a minimum of 24 months factory warranty (for all electronics).
Sure, you probably pay a bit more than buying from Ali or BG yourself but IF you have any issues you (should) get support and repair/replacements.
If you buy from China directly 99,99% they won’t even respond and run with your money.

Thanks for the suggestion. I do try to do so and for Olight and Thrunite I succeed but for Klarus and Acebeam I usually find it difficult.

The symptoms sound like low voltage 3 blinks and low voltage turn off. My Acebeam starts 3 blinks at 3.2v. It should also do it on high. It should step down from turbo or high before turning off. Definitely clean the contacts, test the battery voltage.

The buzz is concerning.

I have the same problem. New Acebeam H30. I have a bunch of 21700 batteries, sometimes when I install in my H30 a battery which is not fully charged, if I try to turn to turbo, three blinks and the lamp turns off. This doesn’t have anything to do with contacts (already checked and cleaned) and is only partially related to battery voltage, since it has happened with batteries at 3,8V, voltage at which the battery should still be able to run turbo. Also this is not the normal behaviour since the lamp should step down to a lower level, not turn off completely. It only happens with newly installed/replaced batteries - not if the battery was installed when fully charged and then used, in this case no problem.

As a side note: the levels in my H30 don’t have anything to do with those displayed on the box. On “low” level I don’t get 23,5h as stated but just 12h. This is because “low” level is much higher than 120 lumens as stated - from my measurements closer to 250. Also “mid” is not 380 lumens, more like 550. Has anyone else noticed this? It seems they have recently updated the model with this, and some other subtle changes: for example now it memorizes moonlight mode even though on the manual it says it shouldn’t.

Had I known the “low” level was much higher than stated, I would have never bought this headlamp. An headlamp without a level in the 30-150 lumens range? Ridiculous. 12h runtime isn’t nearly enough for most applications, considering that if you use turbo or higher levels just a little bit it will become much less than that, more like 8-9h. There’s no alternative level that allows you to save battery while keeping doing what you were doing since 3 lumens isn’t enough for almost anything. It’s a pity because that led and driver seem to be very efficient, more than 12h with a 5000mAh battery at 250 lumens.

Does anyone know of a headlamp with a similar efficiency, and with lower and actually usable and useful levels? i.e. at least 20h at 120Lm with a 3500mAh 18650.

I’ve heard of the three blinks happening at 3.7v. It should blink for a while and then step down, but not turn off. It sounds like yours is very timid. Thinking about it now, its almost as if Acebeam thought the turbo was a secondary feature and not important for many people. Whatever it is, its incredibly stupid. For me its, worse with the smaller batteries, 21700>14500>16340.
