Well, I finally knocked out a couple of basic videos showing how to use the Q8 (narsil lights in general).

The first 3 are with ramping with a 4th video to come later showing mode sets. You can go to my YouTube channel to see them in HD as well as read the descriptions and comment.

those videos really helped me understand NarsilM. I had trouble understanding instruction stated in the manual into real world practice, feels like doing dance move by reading but visual cues made it easier.

Do you know if you use the 4 click lockout, how long would it be safe to keep unprotected cells (30Q) in the light for?

This was discussed a long while ago so I don’t remember all the details, but parasitic drain from the LED is very low and drain from the driver was even lower. I think over a year locked out would be safe from over discharge, but if your gonna store the light the smart thing to do is lock it out by giving the battery tube a turn or take the cells out.

One of the neat features is that the switch led (as long as you don’t program it to turn off) is an easy visual way to tell if the batteries are in and power is flowing. Just twist the battery tube and when the switch led goes out, you know the power is off.

Basically the drain is not a big deal.

The battery drain on my L6 with FET and Narsil V1.2 is 0.48 milliamps or 0.00048 amps.

4 cells in parallel at 3,000 mah is 12,000 mah. 12k milliamps per hour. Let’s say the drain is 0.50 milliamps. That’s 24,000 hours which is 1,000 days which is 2.7 years.

I think the Q8 drain was closer to 0.35 milliamps so that’s over 3 years.

See, not that big a deal.

It’s not going to be divided up by 500’s. List order does not matter. The codes will all go out to everyone at the same time. Says the Miller a few pages back.

Just fyi for the listing on throw, the candela is 50+ kcd, or "50,000+ cd", not 30,000 as listed. That matches up well to the 450+ meters listed, and is more accurate.

"HAIII military grade hard-anodized" is mentioned in there a couple of times, and I don't think it is, should be HAII.

Tricky the ano they used
I had a really hard time to get it to change color, the type2 ano I did change the color of went fast in a couple of minutes.
The Q8 behaved the same as the Kronos X5.

About this , i was planning to order the 2 lights im on the list for together and opt for expedited shipping(cant wait to get the lights in my hands ) . would that be a big no no , or is that entirely up to me.
