I would just like to again thank everyone involved in the development of this awesome flashlight. It is certainly my favorite light in my short flashlight collecting adventure.

It does so many things well and the UI is just incredible.
I find myself using it constantly. I tailstand it and use it for lighting in my room at night. (I could just flick the switch on the house lights, but they don’t have 150 brightness levels.) :smiley:
Let’s not let this thread devolve into a bitch festival about tiny non issues or a 600 page tracking history of every package shipped out of China in the last month.

This is an amazing product that would never have existed without a ton of unselfish effort by the guys on this message board who dreamed it up, designed it and got it built. Cheers to all of you :+1:

I did notice on the one working switch board that one of the green LED’S was brighter than the other. I forgot to get a picture of it, will try to get one tonight.

No need to. I got one like that myself - we know about it. It's in discussions now. The brightness will vary from piece to piece - SMD LED's are not precision binned. Hoping to find out more about this in the next day or two. I think the variation I'm seeing is more than typical though, so we are trying to find out more with ThorFire.

Regardless, you will not be able to use flat tops in the Q8 because of the contact ring. The positive will have to sit proud of the wrapper. If you are planning to solder blob these or some other method then carry on.

My light arrived Friday evening. I had the self control to wait until after dinner and it was quite dark out. This light is amazing! It made me smile and actually laugh as to how bright it is. It lit up the whole distance of my neighborhood. My wife had to come out and see it…she said “oh my”. Thank you to all who contributed to making this happen

Just as a reminder for those that ordered expedited shipping, for mine ordered in the 1st 500 batch, it's due to arrive Wednesday Sep 20th, so 13 days from the day of ordering. Compared to regular shipping, later than some and probably sooner than others, so overall can't complain.

Well, I chose ‘registered shipping’ with insurance and even though I received a shipping notice and tracking number, it shows nothing at all.
Today is 9 days after receiving info. (shipping is to Medley Fl.) :weary:

Yeah eebowler, I ordered my first one on the 8th and it’s still processing… no doubt a part of the second batch. Ordered the 2nd one on the 12th, same deal.

Actually, this is accurate. My mom used to be involved with import/export to China and at one point they were trying to import cars to China. The buyers would buy the cars and literally not maintain them - no oil changes, nothing. In a few years when they stopping working they would just dump them. This was with expensive Mercedes sedans, no less… being bought as status symbols by people with money.

This was over a decade ago, around 2000, when their car infrastructure was really picking up and car servicing wasn’t a common thing to have available. I hope(?) that they’ve gotten better about this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if these attitudes still persist.

FedEx shows nothing? Weird - should work like other US ones. If registered shipping means the regular free option, then should be FedEx tracking.

1 of 4 arrived today. Unfortunately one of the two I ordered for my father. :smiley:
Order handling seems to be really strange. All of the 4 lights had the same tracking status and the same route, but are arriving at different times.
But since my 30Qs haven’t arrived until now, I won’t complain too much.
The light without the batteries would be quite useless and would hurt my soul even more :smiley:

On a side note: the switch light of the one piece my dad has is working flawless, as he told me.

Nothing strange about that at all.
Seperate ordered items dont travel in a pack next to each other.
At every stage of shipping its probably 90% chance of items getting separeted.
Just by chance or by lack of space in the truck/plane/container.

There are a lot of regulations for hazardous materials and they’re different for many different countries. I am not too surprised that gearbest may have a supply and shipping chain setup to send hazardous materials and banggood doesn’t. Banggood may just not care to be bothered dealing with whatever hoops they may have to jump through for your country. For instance, Li batteries can only be sent via surface or sea, not by air.
