Question for riders : Front bicycle light mount

Do you folks who ride at night prefer front handlebar mount, helmet mount or both? This would be for urban night riding on both lit and unlit streets? No trails.

I’m primarily concerned with being seen by motorists….and don’t anticipate needing to see into total darkness.

Thanks for your feedback.

I would never just use a helmet light as it won’t always be pointing in the direction of travel when you move your head around and if it’s bright enough it could dazzle other’s on the road.

I would be using flashing led light’s on the front and rear and a fixed beam light fastened to the handlebars pointing slightly down to illuminate the road but also for oncoming motorist’s to see without dazzling them.

Thanks….yes helmet mount only doesn’t make sense for street riding as you have suggested. I’ve got front and rear blinkies mounted….so I’ll use my Fenix E35UE 2016 mounted on the handlebar pointed slightly downward as you suggested…

I use nothing but TwoFish Cycleblocks for my bar mounted lights . I used to use the Lockblocks , but they aren’t as sturdy .

Thanks guys….I do have the TwoFish…and happy to hear that I made a good choice.

I do appreciate the information!
