Question For Those That Know - Which Is the Better Thrower: Solarforce S2200 MT-G2 Or ThruNite TN31 XM-L2

So which is it for the guys that have both and know for sure? I am thinking about this Solarforce S2200 MT-G2. I don’t have the TN31 XM-L2 version but I got 2 of the first version TN31’s, and if it’s not going to beat the 2nd version TN31 in throw, I will let it walk. Thanks.

So I take it nobody on here has both.

My guess would be that the TN31 will be a better in terms of sheer throw because the XM-L2 probably has a greater surface brightness in a relatively same reflector size.

I would still go for the MT-G2 because I like a good combination of flood and throw. :slight_smile:

I’ve got both, definitely the TN31

EDIT: However the Solarforce is better in most other ways besides throw (and size/weight). Better tint, much more usable spill and better build quality.

TN31 would throw farther, you can also upgrade the TN31’s emitter and do resistor mods for more power

Now that’s the kind of answers that sells me on BLF. You guys are so dang awesome. All great replies. You guys got me wanting now. But I am looking at another find that I may have found, but we shall see how it goes.
