this one is full of disappointment and surprises.
a first unpacking the head is heavy.hmm good modding host?
NOT!
the mcpcb is not connecting to anything!no shelf in the head!
only heat path to anything is the screw that holds it to the heavy reflector.which does nothing.
but it only pulls 1.5a on high.and in free air the mcpcb gets very hot.
i improved it with a stack of thermal pads from a junked plasma tv.
otherwise this light would quickly overheat.
of course it has latticebrights not cree xm-l.
but the surprise is that they are a nice clean white and they match.
no blue, purple, ect and decent color rendering.shows latticebright can make decent leds.
maybe everyone else uses rejects,“toy grade”parts, ect.
and it can take the fat liitokala 26650 cells.
at $22.xx its not a good value!
The listing you link to isn’t available any longer, but I’m assuming this is one of the old HD2010 style triples? Those are some poorly designed lights, with the poor (nonexistent) thermal path. A friend of mine ordered one a couple of years ago but it burned out very quickly. I would like one if I could get it cheaply, for a low-powered build, but as intended, it’s a terrible light.
thats exactly what this is.
a hd2010 with an srk setup dropped in.with no heatsinking.
a guaranteed recipe for failure!
I’ve been thinking about these for awhile and i was just coming to ask if anyone has seen these and i found this thread. So it looks like these are no go, thank you for sharing this with us!
Probably all of these multi led versions are using same host without heatsink, so these are definitely not for us. ![]()
Just to make sure we are talking about same host:
Ebay 1
Ebay 2
I think those two are different than the OP’s. I haven’t seen lights like the ones you linked before…
I got this 1s 3T6 and as we may quess, it does not have really Cree leds. But even these were not Cree leds, i measured about 900-1000LM with these, so not totally useless.
I changed Fasttech Cree XM-L2 U2-3D leds to original MCPCB and now it has quite nice output, approximately 2500LM at 9A.
Now i just need to find suitable driver to this, since original is totally useless. Here is pictures about driver:

Since it is 26mm and im looking about max output, i think i will try this Texas Avenger latest FET + 1 + 8 driver which looks pretty nice:

But… now it’s: US $3.96 price ![]()
“SupwildFire 8000Lm 3x XM-L T6 LED 5-Mode 18650 Flashlight”
For 4$ shipped it’s a bargain! Or not? Pull the trigger??
EDIT
sorry that price is for the small flashlight and not the 3xXML…
