Quick, what's the best light I can get for $30 or less?

Difficulty: no links to banggood or Ali

There’s no best, only tradeoffs. The Wowtac A6 is pretty competitive, includes a battery and USB charging, and available shipped from the US.

I’d say get a FW3A… often on ’’sale” on amazon for $30

Or a FT03 SST40 if you are willing to buy from bangood  Absolute best performance for the price.

Rofis MR50 at Amazon $24.77 right now.

Go $10 more and get a Sofirn SP36 Anduril and never look back. Catch them on sale for about $40.

That Rofis is hard to beat at that price. Comes complete and can be used as a power bank.
1* MR50 Flashlight
1* ROFIS 21700 5000mAh Battery
1* Charge Cable
1* Micro USB to USB Adapter
1* Holster
1* Lanyard
2* O-ring

Maglite ML25 for $20 + Maglite Solitaire LED for $10.

I second that Rofis MR50 for $24.

Amazing build quality on the Rofis. Best quality anodizing I’ve ever seen and everything about it just feels like an expensive light. UI is pretty good too and it comes with a high capacity high drain battery.

Should make a decent gift too with its built-in charger and battery, and intuitive simple UI. Only downside is some have reported high parasitic drain. So if not using the light for more than a few days you may want to use tailcap lockout.

I have both it and the Wowtac A6. The Rofis feels like a much better quality light.

Almost ordered the Rofis, but with only 1 minute of turbo and a battery that is reported to be near like 76mm long that will not fit in the Opus charger even though that charger easily fits the other 21700 I have kept the add to cart button left wanting.

Looks like nice build and like Rofus in general, but lack of low-low or moonlight, cool white and then yeah the heavy parasitic drain killed the deal.

Think maybe they are blowing out the remaining stock for version 2.0?

Great review of Rofis MR50 on this thread also;

Did they solve the parasitic drain problem on the rofis?

Brick and mortar? One of the newer Minimag LED models.

Online? Since I don’t like mode memory that would rule out most Lumintop Tools (though my Ti Tool is MLH order without memory which is excellent). I would look at the Lumintop IYP365 or the Jaxman E3 or M2 depending on what you need. If it has to be sourced demestically I’d stick with maglite in the price range- maybe a Solitaire Spectrum model.

Two perfect headlamp options out there. Thrunite TH20 and Acebeam H40.

Not sure.

the MR70 I just got says it is “version 2”. But my crappy little DMM doesn’t measure current so I can’t check the drain.
