Hey Maglite guys, I have some questions because I can get decent deal on these. Any input from actual owners? Reviews have been mixed,.

Agreed. But I was wondering if I can use comparable 1 single lithium ion cell for the CR123A version. And Mod the the recharge version?

It could take a 16340 and dummy cell, but don’t think there’s a 16650 (16mm vs 18mm) cell out there.

There are definitely 16650’s, I run them in my quark. I’ll check what they are tomorrow.

They also make 17650’s but the 16650 is ahead tech wise and actually have more capacity. 2200 for sure and maybe even 2500 iirc.

Low drain cell, even at 5A it is not really comfy and voltage sags a lot. It is a 4.35V cell, if charged to just 4.2V great capacity and energy is still available and increased cycle life is due.

Available at the usual places, Aliya's and Lucky Electronics' among them.

AliExpress is having issues lately. For example, when I try to do a local store search a “please slide to verify” window appears which once slid takes you back where you were without results. It also happened when issuing a search via G00gl€ engine with the site: operator.

@Barkuti, that’s normal.

Aliexpress sellers do this every year during the CNY to prevent people from easily buying stuff that is not going to be shipped.

Dafuq? Can't they just hang up some banner saying “we're on vacation”? Because this smells like something's wrong, non-local searches work correctly.
