Anybody and recommendations of “reasonable” quality 18650 batteries, I don’t need absolute top of the range but i also don’t want something I#m throwing away in 4 weeks either just a middle of the road with reasonable lifespan??
Also protected or unprotected …… if I go for unprotected how do you know of the battery is getting down to a level that it’ll cause damage, I was using a protected 14500 last night and it’d showed no visible signs of running down but then started to cut on high power and it made me thnik how easy it’d be to kill unprotected ones??
You really don’t want “reasonable” quality li-ion. Top brands are not expensive. So anything less is foolish imho and asking for trouble. Li-ions have the potential it get violent, venting toxic gas including hydrofluoric acid, shooting flames (literately) and exploding if inside a sealed container at the time. Never buy ultrafire / trustfire / *fire li-ions.
You should get protected li-ions, quality seiko protected. The least expensive brands that use seiko protection and top brand cells is Evva and Keeppower. So I recommend only buying those. You can’t rely on cheap protection chips. And it also gives a false sense of security.
Thanks for everyone’s input, I was going to go for the Samsungs from Mountain electronics but the postage to the UK was $14 which I thought was a rip off so went for the keeppowers from banggood instead
