First I’ll say I have the x75. Never thought I’d get a light with a battery pack and I did ,I never want one again. The light is amazing but again dependant on the manufacturer. Especially when the bp8 battery pack is only 7 months old and it’s lost about 20% of its run time. That’s the only way I could gauge it because there’s no way to do a capacity test like I do with my single cells. $180 to replace it!
I also have the Q8. Which is a nice light but it gets too too hot too quickly. That’s because it’s small and powerful.
Please read the six deal breakers before you make a suggestion. Thank you
Can not have proprietary battery pack.
At least 20,000 lumens and 100 kcd.
It can be and needs to be a bigger light like the size of a TN42 or WT90.
Preferably 21700 batteries but 18650 would work.
I would pay up to $400. If it is a quality light and can deliver.
And It can’t weigh more than three or four pounds I don’t want the blf lights that are like 7 lb that’s not practical for hiking.
Thx
Thx. It has a battery pack one of several things I won’t accept. It also weighs 6.3 lb. I’m most certain it’s more than $400… I saw prices between $700 and $1,000.
I appreciate your help I remember looking at this light a year ago it’s just too big too heavy too expensive and a battery pack.
And the Haikelite… I read up on here a lot of people were saying the ones they got were fake.
I had the ACEBEAM X25 I returned it. Had a few issues with it. I was able to return it to this Ace beam USA facility.
I apologize for being so direct I shot down all three of the lights you suggested!
A Q8 is out of the question. Gets too hot as I said. Other batteries like p45a button top that I can get will make it even more powerful. And hotter. I’m not familiar wit
h the l8? Is that a convoy? Thanks
The use case is hiking at night! Early in the morning. Hike at least 10 miles per day with my buddy who I’ve known a long long time we already like 26,000 miles years ago now we’re trying to do 25,000. The use case in other terms I have 35 lights I use about 15 of them for the trail. So I use each light two or three times a week.
I checked out the l8. It doesn’t qualify. 6400 lumens which is probably wrong anyway is not near 20,000. And it has a battery that’s basically not being made anymore the 26800.
I realize it’s not an easy find what I’m looking for. But again if you guys read those six things I’m not interested in it will make it easier. I have the wt90 and a TN 42 modified light which is similar to the L8 but better quality
Can anybody recommend a legitimate website for the Haiklite HK08??? That does seem like the best option so far. I got concerned when I read reviews that they were getting counterfeit once. Thank you
Any light putting out that much candela is going to get hot
Nothing under 4lbs is sustaining anywhere near that output for for more than a few seconds.
If you’ve been reading reviews on it. You would definitely have seen 1lumens review. His reviews are on the first page of google every time.
He does his own tests and shows the results.
He states where it came from in the review.
1lumen also compares beamshots with other lights in the same class
He reveals the internals of the light in the review. You can clearly see it is not a fake.
His site is well organised. You can find all the biggeet and brightest quite easily
Yes.. I like one lumen. I put that light model in there three or four times it didn’t work maybe it’s a zero and not an O I don’t know I couldn’t get that review on there I always go there first for reviews.
The x75 is 4 lb it holds 68,000 lumens for 30 seconds.
Lights do get hot and I forgot something very important. I’m very thorough but I always seem to be in piecemeal. This light must have Anduril , narsil or a driver where you have the ability to raise the thermal limit as high as you want or disable it.
I’m a fan of letting my hand determine when to turn it down not these 30 second one minute step Downs.
90% of the lights that manufacturers sell have that 30 second one minute and once in a while or 2 minutes step down for the smaller lights. And I understand why they do it for the safety of the average Joe! And probably for lawsuits
Thanks for the links. Neil’s gadgets. Let me tell you something. Did you ever read reviews on here threads on here the negatives of Neil I’ve had a couple posts on there about him he can be great to people but he’s very inconsistent unreliable sends wrong stuff doesn’t rectify the situation sometimes he might I got to find another place if I buy that light I’m not buying it off of him.
I’m in my sixties. I’ve eliminated many people my life because of unreliability dating sites coworkers friends when I see that happen once or twice nope I have nothing to do with them because they’re not going to change and I can’t change them.
I appreciate your help. When I look at that light it takes your own batteries which is awesome the only difference between that and the x75 is it has another Claimed 150Kcd… which is great. I’d rather have 150K additional CD and 7K less lumens. using your own batteries is very important I’m going to read review and see what kind of driver it has probably has a step down quickly. I can accept the 30 seconds or a minute step down as long as you can bump it back up in a couple minutes. That’s what I do with the x75.
You didnt read what i said. The light came from nealsgadgets. 1lumens reveals the internals of the light in pictures. It is not a fake.
Im in my 50’s. I work on first hand personal knowledge. Not internet rumours. There is nothing more fake than stories on the internet. The best way around your issue is to buy the light from a physical store. Online shopping isnt for you if you believe one bad review over 1000 good ones. And thats fine. In person has its benefits. But best price isnt one of them.
You keep moving the goalposts. The light has been found. The seller of non fakes has been found. The list of lights with your requirements AND anduril is exactly zero.
We are misunderstanding each other. I didn’t say that Neil sells fake lights what I said there has been verified by many people. He is unreliable and sends wrong stuff unpredictable blah blah blah it’s just my preference if you like him, that’s fine there’s got to be a another place that sells the light I had a problem with the guy so I was one of the ones who put a negative review on it he never responded never never never responded to me with an issue I had so that’s my experience. The issue was a defective light he just ignored me . He’s overwhelmed .
The thing of it is you have one or two people with a bad experience right you know what happens the hundred that have good experience discount that those two people say oh he did great for me well he didn’t do great for the people that are complaining did he?!
I’ve tried four more times on one Lumen to see the review of that light it never comes up I tried HK08 and HKO8… doesn’t register do you have a link so I can look at the review from one lumen.? Thanks
The lake you posted for one Lumin is a five most powerful lights again I put hk08 and hkO8 in the search bar and nothing came up
I’m sorry I got to add one more thing. And I’m not going to search for that link of bad experience with Neil on here cuz it’s a hell of a lot more than one there’s dozens and dozens of people complaining about him it’s not one out of 1000.
Thank you for your time and effort eddie. My decision is the stick with my x75 which is a much better quality light. I’m not happy with $180 battery pack. I will probably be getting another BPA battery pack 6 months or a year. I’ve only had it 7 months. But that was my choice my decision.
The screenshots are from one lumen review. Between that and the fact that it only takes four batteries seal its fate. The reason I say that I have the bp8 for the x75 I can get 35 minutes of run time a dozen or so turbo bursts, high for 10 or 15 minutes and 900 lumens , COOL DOWN for about 15 minutes. The BP4 for that comes with the light I don’t even get 12 minutes with that running it the same way. So this Haikelite is going to get much much hotter with no fan the run times are going to be short and the cons that the reviewer put. I also helpful making my decision. Not even half the CDs he said they’re claiming 450,000 he must have not even got 250. I didn’t go that far in the review.
In finality I wish for all you is a Merry Christmas and good health life is short life is precious. My best friend of 30 years , She’s got glioblastoma the most aggressive brain tumor you can have she’s given about 12 months to live it’s tragic. Cancer is evil. Life hasn’t been fair for millions of people this is perfect example ready to retire has a good selling money in the bank from working hard for 40 years. All we can do is reflect on the good times and appreciate what we have.
To better understand your objectives, it would be helpful to know what a 20+k lumen/100kcd flashlight will do for you that the Acebeam X75 doesn’t.
You’ve been walking your dog on the same wooded river trail for years, and so you’re probably aware of every fallen branch, scat pile and bird’s nest along the way!
So what is it that you’re trying to accomplish, other than periodically asking virtually the same question for years, followed by invariably rejecting every suggestion?
Honestly I’m not sure what you want exists. At least not at a reasonable price point.
20K lumens minimum plus 100K candela really limits what’s available without custom making it yourself. Heat is the major obstacle.
Until the past couple years it was nigh impossible to find a pocketable light that could sustain 2000 lumens for an hour or two. As SAR operator I have similar specific requirements and I simply went without what I wanted for years. I had to settle for using 2 lights simultaneously.
Toss on Battery and UI wants and I’m not sure you have many options. I have some other ideas but none tick all the boxes.
