reccomendation: small size, hight CRI flashlight

Hello,

I’m looking for small, pocketable, flashlight with higher CR index (I tried Fenix e28r flashlight before but that greenish tint is not nice, I’m returning it) and regulated output. I will usually pocket it in my pants or fanny pack. I want it to be very universal and practical light and has to be rechargeable thought USB-C port or at least accept battery with integrated USB-C port.

I want to try Acebeam e70 mini with Nichia 519A and Acebeam TK18 with Samsung LH351D. I think that I like the design (except the rubber switch) of TK18 better, but then 519A in 70 mini has better CRI right?

Do you know about any other flashlights that I should not forget to check out?

I’m not sure if the LH351D on TK18 is high CRI. Maybe is better to get the 219C emitter option.
I also don’t know if they upgraded the battery to USB-C.

LH351D is greenish, I don’t like it.
219C 5000k if you want a perfect daylight.
219B 4500k is my favorite.
519A 4500k is a good choice but below 219b.

Sofirn SP10 Pro - takes 14500 or AA batteries. You’d need to find a USB C rechargeable battery e.g. Lumintop 14500 USB Type-C Rechargeable Li-ion Battery 3.7V 920mAh

Bought one of those as well. Great little light. I even bought a few more. One is on the bench waiting for disassembly. See if the battery is replaceable or not. Either way, I like em.

I really wanted 18650 light, because of the battery longetivity for prolonged times outside. So far it seems that Acebeam E70 mini wins.

but i concur, the 18650 is about 40% bigger but has at least 300% more energy in the battery

and it is not hard to find pocketable ones

Acebeam E70 mini is not that small.

An Emisar D4v2 with 18650 tube is considerably smaller. And you can get the D4v2 with domed or dedomed 519a with similar CRI and possibly superior tint to the E70 mini. The D4v2 is even available in variable color temperature configuration.

also i would not recommend a ‘throwy’ light [acebeam e70] for ‘general purpose’

a because usually you need flood instead of spot and
b throwy always means ‘big headed’ which means less EDCable

i like the FW3A, but i have an early version, supposedly they are not as good now

Are you looking at a different torch? The E70 mini doesn’t look remotely throwy. The complete opposite tbh. ???

good idea, it has everything you want

for a less expensive option
you can compare to this18650 light with 519a LED

that light uses a single LED, so it will create a smaller area of illumination than the E70 w its 3 LEDs… otoh, more LEDs lighting a larger area, uses up the battery faster. I prefer single LED lights over Triples and Quads, others preferences may differ.

you would need to buy the USB battery separately, and would need to confirm it fits the light.

the USB battery will not work in a D4V2, nor in an FW3A, because Anduril does not like protected batteries

so to use USB battery, means no Anduril lights

the USB battery is 70mm long
an unprotected battery is 65mm long

I do think 519a is much better than LH351D
