So I spent the day reclaiming batteries and ended up whit about 50 good 18650’s.
Don’t know what I will do with them, maybe have a give away. But thought I would share a picture of the bounty.
I have not been able to do a full test yet, but the enitial test was at minimum and higher for a good battery. Hopefully after I charge them they will be testing perfect
It is a fusion custom
Got some some Sanyo 2600mah’s and some 2250’s. Also got some Sony 2100vs I think.
Yea it wasn’t ideal but better in a box than on the work bench.
The pani’s came from an HP laptop, the sonys came from dell laptops and the sanyo’s came from paniaonic toughbooks
Nice! I would love it if someone could find a good deal on laptop batteries with those Sony batteries. I wonder if they are the high amp ones or not? If so that is really a find.
Unfortunately, they are not. “the high amp ones” will not be showing up in laptop packs, you may find them in powertool packs or similar. “G7” denotes a 7th gen regular cell…
I am unused to seeing the green Sony rap for anything other than high-drain cells, but Sony does make regular cells. Same thing with the CGR cells, the only ones I’m used to seeing are the CH suffix, so when I see a box of green-wrapped cells and cells with CGR written on them I jump to the conclusion that it’s a box of high drain cells. Of course that’s not correct, these are all laptop pulls and therefore low-drain cells.
I suspect that hope springs eternal though, for guys like you and me. Of course it’s always misplaced hope. I know better but as I said, I still let myself get carried away for a moment.
Oh heck yea it’s a nice haul! Still miles above the ###fire ones. Really these are still good enough (as long as they charge and hold it) to run most any flashlight. The High amp ones only real advantage is when they are needed for a hotrodded light. For 90% of our lights these are all you really need anyway.
