Hi,
I’m looking for a very cheap (preferably around $10) 2xAA flashlight. With original Cree LED - I’m not looking for top brightness but good balance between output and long runtime. Preferably not regulated - sudden darkness is not acceptable. There are some cheap ones (SingFire SF-78, Cofly KX-D011, KX-D010, SAIK SA-125, Ultrafire/Fandyfire C3 2AA from FT etc.) but sometimes they offer really short runtime. Thanks for any help.
Although 2-3x your budget, I’d highly recommend the Nitecore MT2A.
It’s an awesome light if you can get one for $10-15 used.

Nâh, too cheap…
Could be good though, but no CREE, probably cheap big dye 5mm strawhat…
Can be enough though, probably a decent runtime.
I like the body.
But it’s the only 2xAA I can come up with, so I subscribed to this topic.
I don’t think it has more than 30 lumens, that’s too dim. If the emitter is very ineficcient (which is quite likely) runtime may be not as long as expected.
@ryansoh3, I can’t get one for such money.
How about 3-mode SK68 + police light lego?
I am curious, what is this lego you speak of?
Battery tube from one fits in place of the other's tailcap.
There are many, many “Police3Watt” flashlights for less than $2.— out there.
But they’re still disappointing…
Purple-ish weak light…
The MXDL 1x AAA pipes are much better.
5 parts driver in stead of 3 parts, fairly neutal / cool white, only slightly blue-ish, more light than the cheaper ones.
They start at around $2.50.
It’s a gamble though in this price range…
A SK86 with an extension tube to fit 2x AA would be great.
Those drivers like the 3 Volts and will really use up all mAh’s of the batteries, because even at 1 Volt it still works.
Never seen something like that though…
Looks like this one,
Aha!
I’ve used this one before . . . durable, inexpensive, good runtime. Rayovac Indestructible 2AA
I live in Europe so import from China is the only way to buy cheap budget flashlight.
I like the Romisen RC-N3, will take 2AA or CR123A battery:

…but then I mod it with XM-L2 LED and first rate efficient ‘BB Nexgen’ driver from ‘sandwich shoppe’. They are good just stock too, nice build quality for the price.
tank 566 and an extension
Tanks have pretty inefficient circuits and short runtimes.
I ended up buying the cheapest one - Colfy KX-D010. For just $7 it’s worth a try.
Might be too late now, but I recommend a PM to CLICK>> vestureofblood << CLICK regarding this light. He had a few, he might have one or two left over. Price was good, but not publishable due to MAP.
Hope he doesnt mind me posting it.
Group buy is closed, besides MT2A eats battery on short bursts on highest mode. It also has forward clicky which increases a risk of accidental activation. And even without MAP it wouldn’t be even close my budget. Let’s say I bought its much cheaper ($6.78 to be precise) version because KX-D010 looks a lot like MT2A.
You already bought a light so it wasnt aimed at you. Just a general statement in response to a post. By too late I meant that the GB was closed, but he might have one or two left and it was worth asking about.
After 5 weeks of waiting I finally got the Cofly. For the price it’s a no brainer. Quite well mase, covered rear spring, original LED, quite bright, well focused beam - it’s VERY throwy, I don’r have MT21A anymore but I think KX-D010 outthrows it. Beam profile appears to be skewed but suprisingly when I look directly into the reflector, emitter seems to be centered well. There is some dust inside reflector but it doesn’t affect brighness. There’s just one thing I don’t like - next mode memory so every 3 times it starts on strobe.
