Recommendations for 2xAA Hosts?

I see that Illumination Supply will be selling Nichia 219 HCRI 4500k emitters, and I'm thinking this is as good a time as any to try and build my own light.

Since I'm strictly an Eneloop guy, I'm thinking that a 2xAA host would be best. Something with at least two modes, easy to find/buy, decent quality, and naturally, affordable.

With that in mind, is there something you guys might recommend?

A 9P, G3 or C3 will host 2xAA sized cells with a spacer-tube inside to stop rattle.

I dont think solarforce makes a straight up clone of any of these, and I am not sure if a solar-lego will add up to the exact 2x500 mm length.

I've just ordered this from BuyInCoins for about $8.53, you get a small discount on your first order if you open an account:

I'm going to replace the Xenon module with a low volt single mode XPG P60 dropin, from Solarforce. Then run it with 2 x AA Alkaline. It's for the car.

Thanks for the input, fellas. Seems like the options for 2xAA hosts aren't all of that great, so I might just be best off doing an emitter swap on a stock light of my choosing.

I have a Solarforce L2r which was discontinued a while ago. Solarforce now sell L2 plus Cr123 extender as a 2xAA setup. I have these too and they work well as a 2AA light, though, they have big heads and a bit bulky. I also would like to learn if you could find a nice and inexpensive host with a good driver and moddable pill so that I can just swap the emitters.
