recommended CHARGER (& 26650)

so like the title states, i need some new batteries, and theres a lot of info here on them, but im not sure what are best bang for the buck
got 10 new 18650 cells, so no need for them anymore

26650s, i would like to be able to be able to handle the amps with as little voltage sag as possible. the highest mah is not needed. would like atleast 2+ cells

also a charger that is able to charge both. i would like one that has some info included on it like mah, voltage…. but not necessary

thanks in advance. i know i could find this info myself if i just searched the forums, but going through all that info would take me a lot of time i dont have for searching

edit: the 26650s main purpose will be to occupy my mag mod, an xml2 at 3.5a

so i did some searching this morning, and seems that these might be one of the best batteries. did a quick google search and cant seem to find a better price protected or not

decided to go with protected on the 18650 because my fiance tends to grab the 18650 lights.
but are these the best bang for the buck?

pretty bad i been around so long and know zilch about batteries. i know the safety part of using them, but never paid attention to reviews or anything like that with them as it does not interest me as much as the lights. just always used my TFF and sanyo pulls, and its time to replace my laptop pulls

Those are great batteries but if you’re looking for bang for the buck check these out.

I’m far from a battery expert but someone (don’t remember who) recommended these, I bought a bunch and am very happy with them.

Either cell you or luvlites suggested are good cells. You have to be the one to decide best bang for the buck.
I would lean more towards the sanyo myself. They offer a higher discharge voltage.
As for charger I would recommend a hobby charger. It charge’s just about everything you can throw at it, and offers the correct charging algorithum for li-ion’s. Just my two cents

I’ve been giving the xtar sp2 charger a good look after the i4 debacle.

No battery info from it, but it has 0.5a 1a and 2a selectable charge rates and will do both size cells.

To get battery info you want a hobby charger and power supply. And a rig for the cells.

Member HKJ also has a battery comparison site where you can pick batteries he tested to compare against one and another at different currents.

If you want to charge li-ions of different sizes with mAh and voltage display, a hobby charger is your best bet.

The iMAX B6 or Turnigy Accucel-6 comes to my mind, without breaking the wallet.

thanks for all the help guys… but i killed my playing budget today
think im going to have to just get a set of 26650s now and a cheap charger…
but i got a bad@$$ 1911 on the way :money_mouth_face:

What brand. Nothing like a big lead thrower.

Nothing wrong with that. Who wouldn’t rather have a 1911 over a pile of cells?

I guess some guys just like big throwers of all types…

What make/model did you go with?

stainless sig 1911 target

going to be a few weeks before i can go pick it up though

ok… my the last few times i used my charger it is only charging to 4.12v… so i need to order a new one this weekend

im thinking the xtar sp2, or nitecore intellicharger i4. the sp2 is a little on the pricey side for me, so would it be worth almost twice the i4?? any other good ones im missing that can also do 26650s?

The i4 has had some issues lately,i dont own one nor have ever used one.

yeah, i kind of recall reading about that…

any multi cell chargers do li-ion and lifepo4? if i could get a good 2-4 cell charger that does those two, id be one happy man
edit: too bad the xtar vp1 wont do 26650s :frowning: that thing looks nice

SP2, $32.99 plus free shipping at Orbtronic $8 more than a i4, only 2 bays does Li-ions only but much faster than a i4.

I would recommend an i2, I bought one for the wife to charge her TFs for her HD2010. I have to check both my i4 and the i2 to see if they are terminating correctly.
Both the i2 and i4 are going to take a long time to charge 26650s fully but, of the two…

order from them before? it says they are based in florida, but do they just take orders there and still get shipped from china?

Go for the sp2 its got 3 charging gears

It’s sent from FL, I got the charger in 3-4 days.
