Clearly I have not been around here for a long time. (Other than an occasional glance;-) Simply could not afford any more lights and had given enough to where pretty much everyone I knew who might one one had gotten one. Then it happened… Somehow I managed to loose my Tank 007 E09. Within a day or two someone rifled through my car and took my Trustfire R5 A3. I have one SIPIK 68 clone left somewhere but can’t put my hands on it at the moment. Not really an EDC for me anyway. So that puts me down to just 1 18650 headlamp, 2 C8s and 1 P60 (various flavors of XM-L). Of course there are several other flashlights in my possession that predate my flashaholic affliction.
I know I could just go to Home Depot or some such and pick up another flashlight for my car. Frankly 2 XM-L C8’s give me more flashlight functionality that most normal people would even hope for;-) The truth is that I went into a serious withdrawal at not having the Tank! I simply could not get used to not having that amazing tool in my pocket at all times. I may have survived if it were jacket season as a C8 or P60 is always in a jacket/coat pocket.
So… Thank you for still being here to feed my addiction! I had to read up and find anything that may have come along and been better than the Tank. I think I may have to get another one and perhaps a lumitop tool as well. At the moment I ended up getting a Thrunite Ti3 from Amazon as I couldn’t wait for China shipping – I was just too flashlight deprived;-) I can’t get over how anxious I was for the Amazon delivery to come today! Have a X-tar WK 50 on the way as well to fill my AA need. Hopefully I can stop here but OH BOY the pull is powerful! Am really tempted to get some fresh and more powerful 16850 cells and perhaps a new C8 (currently I have an XML U2 pulling about 3A) that will be a noticeable improvement?
FWIW, if anyone is struggling to deal with this addiction I know it can be managed. For me at least however it will never be eliminated. Wishing everyone here many happy days of enjoying our addition!!

New c8s with newer emitters are putting out 4.5-6 amps. 1400+ lumens 90-180 kcd. A xpl hi in your c8 with the tail and driver switches by passed will be a complely different light then the c8s your use to. There are some guys on here you can mail your c8 to to rebuild it. Djburkes does it for like 15-20 if you have the host already. Like 35-38 if you don’t have the host. A dedomed xpg2 makes a great c8 thrower. Or a dedomed xml2 u4. I have a c8 xml2 u4. Xpl hi on the way. And getting one made with a xpg2 soon.
You should check out the eagle eye x6 they are great to mod as well. Have one with a xpg2. But they make around 1200 lumens stock with the xpl hi $21 on gearbest I believe
Best advice: get yourself a new Tank 007 e09 and go back in hibernation now. If it is too late for that: welcome back to BLF 
Oh the itch is strong for an updated C8! I really do like a lot of light;-) Seriously though in many ways the pocket AAA is my favorite and really threw me for a loop when I didn’t have it. Granted a properly configured C8 will do everything and then some but there is something about having that tiny thing in my pocket that will actually put out as bright of light as a 4D maglite of my youth!
I have a BC-700 charger and plenty of AAA so I just frequently change cells so that my light is always fresh. The 18650 is amazing and I have way more than I need and don’t often change them in my C8s as they are primarily doggie doo doo pick up lights, rarely see high for more than a few seconds and therefore go a LONG time on a single charge. My p60 primarily serves as my motorcycle jacket light. Given that I ride much less at night than I used to it rarely gets used even though it is a fantastic light.
