Replacement switch/tailcap for UF-2100?

Hey, I have a UF-2100 from way back when that flickers at times when I move the light/switch modes. I found out that the problem was with the tailcap because the light works just fine when completing the circuit with a multimeter. I tried to “fix” it but it didn’t seem to work. I was wondering if any one got any suggestions on a reverse clicky switch that would be compatible with this light? The current switch is just the switch with a free-floating spring (not soldered) on it so I was wondering if I might be able to replace it with one with a PCB board. Also, I’m not sure if this is a problem but the tail cap assembly consists of a plastic ring that holds down the switch and spring that screws into an outer metal ring, which then screws into the tailcap itself. The metal ring holds back the silicone button for the sleeve. What has happened is that while I am able to screw out the plastic ring, the metal ring seems to be stuck onto the tailcap. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

To remove the metal ring you need to drill some small holes in it so you can unscrew it, but there is no real reason to do that. Not sure about a replacement switch though.

Romisen G2 switch fits just fine

Great find. I’ll go look into that. Guess I’ll have to find some way to get that metal ring out if it’s gonna fit. Problem is, I don’t have power tools. I’ll figure something out. Thanks for the help.

Do you have a swiss army knife? Use awl tool to make the holes

I have one…somewhere around the house. Need to go find it but I’ll try what you’ve said. Thanks.

Ok, I manged to get the ring out through brute force. However, shiningbeam doesn’t seem to carry the RC-G2 switch any more. Does any one know if this switch is the same?
