replacing the driver on a Skilhunt H04

My Skilhunt H04 headlamp broke, but it’s still under warranty. Did a bit of troubleshooting and the seller (Aliexpress) offered to send me the driver for it so I don’t have to send the flashlight to China for warranty repair/replacement. I wasn’t able to find a youtube video of how to replace the driver. I’ve read other people say the Skilhunt H04 is an easy light for driver mods, but I’m a newbie and don’t know anything.

Is this light similar to anything else that I’d be able to find a tutorial video for?

The main difficulty is unscrewing the thread locked tube, IMO the best way is to use a strap wrench, with the help of a bit of heat to soften the glue.
After that you just have to desolder and resolder the wires.

If you are a newbie and have never soldered before, I would forget about trying to replace the driver in your H04. Skilhunt should just send you a new one.
