Success, but by cheating… I ‘borrowed’ my son’s and that went relatively easy. He’s not using it anyway, so I only feel mildly bad about it :innocent: The damaged one is not moving at all, I probably ruined the threads beyond saving.



As expected slightly different from the other ones posted before. Chip is completely unmarked and lots of unpopulated components. Doesn’t look too promising, but we’ll see.

Edit:
Traced it and it’s really straightforward. From MCU directly to transistors(?). Then Q2 goes to led wire 1 and Q3 goes to wire 2. That’s all she wrote….

So the limiting resistors are located on the MCPCB in this model. The 680 0,68 ohm resistors (0,23 ohm total) go to the anode of the normal 3V led, while the 1,2 ohm ones (0,4 ohm total) go to cathode of the SST20 DR. Not sure if just replacing the 1,2 ohm ones would do the trick, but it does look like it.
