Flashlight came in a small box with little to no specifications on it.

In the box there were:

It’s small and lightweight, only 31.5g (without the battery)

As every AA flashlight should be.


I’ve chosen the green color, so when I drop it on the grass, it’s gone forever.

Let’s get back to the review

It’s funny the included battery has a “Flydeer” on it. They could add a picture instead. like this one:

On the front there is a clear plastic TIR optics. It’s not covered by glass, so it can be scratched very easily

Threads are well lubricated and smooth. Those are probably a square, or a trapezoidal threads.

Metal pill on one side, spring on the other. The metal pill has a mechanical reverse polarity protection, i.e. you need a button top to make contact with it.

Attached 2 way clip, with lanyard hole. Very nice, one clip and three purposes.

Forward switch with rubber dome

UI

Simple UI: just 3 modes (Low 3lm – Medium 50lm – High 300lm). With mode memory.

What bothers me though, is the forward switch. You can’t change brightness as simply as with the reverse switch – you have to basically turn it off, then change brightness, then turn it on again. I like forward switches in tactical flashlights, combined with secondary e-switch, but in an EDC flashlight…not so much.

If 3 hours of runtime on high mode was a bit suspicious for you, congratulate yourself for your instinct. It’s nowhere near the 3 hours.

Yes, it might shine for 3 hours if you started from High mode, but I might as well say that I ran for 3 hours today just because when I left home, I had to run to catch the bus, but later I did some shopping that took me 2.5 hours.


Runtime on middle mode:

Not that bad, 50lm, single AA battery and 180 min. It would be enough time in emergency situation.


Heat dissipation

300lm means no significant heat, so overheating is not an issue here.


Charging

No charging. You have to use either single use AA battery and produce waste, or use Ni-MH cells, which makes our planet happy.

Declared IP68, which means the highest standard of dust resistance and the highest (well, actually 8 is not the highest rating, there is also 9) waterproof standard, up to 2 meters water depth.

Osram Duris P9, clear TIR optics, max output 300 lumens (max output with Ni-MH: 350lm)

Despite the fact that in my language “osram” means “poop on something”, this LED produces a cool white light, which in my opinion is not the best in EDC flashlight


Does it look greenish on your screen? Because on mine it looks as green as a whole field of fresh grass.
I have a new camera, and I tried to find the best settings for different tints (cool and warm light) but if it works fot cool white, it looks terrible for warm white. 5000K is not the “ultimate” white balance, I was wrong.
Anyway, this light is WAY too green, in reality it is just slightly greenish around the hotspot.
Sorry for bad pictures, this one and beamshots in the forest looks too greenish…

Looks like not much light, right?
Well, it depends on what you need. It’s not always the best choice to have the brightest flashlight with you. Why? Because it is big and heavy. In fact, when I go hiking in the mountains in the summer, I pack a small flashlight in my backpack. Smaller than this one. Why? Because in the summer it’s hardly possible to hike at night because the day is long. It happened to me once, in fact. And a small flashlight was enough.

I basically covered this topic above in recommended use scenarios. To sum up, this is a good flashlight if you need one to always be in your backpack in case of emergency. It’s not big, not heavy, perfect to carry around.

Cyansky P10 is an EDC flashlight. In order to be small, it’s powered by a single AA battery, and its maximum brightness is 300 lumens. The used Osram P9 LED has a cool white color. The plastic TIR optic is responsible for focusing the light and it’s not covered by glass on the front, so over time it will become more scratched if we intend to use the flashlight frequently. This has its advantages, for example, over time the optic will be so scratched that the light will be very evenly dispersed.

Nice review, nice light. A forward switch is indeed something of an acquired taste. OTOH it can act as a momentary switch. That ain’t half bad either.

can you use 14500 li ion?

Unfortunately not. I know, I know, it’s sad

Momentary switch is great, you can go maybe hunting, it’s very nice to have it, you know, animals don’t get scared that easily. With this flashlight it would be especially great to go hunting, animals would come to you to laugh about your flashlight and then go back home and tell all their friends about it.
But seriously, if someone likes forward switches in EDC then ok, it’s not like a deal breaker for me, I get it too, this was probably to make this flashlight different, but I prefer reverse switch.

The Find The Flashlight challenge, when a green flashlight dropped on the green grass. It is very hard for me to find out the flashlight at the Medium and Hard levels. In fact, I can’t see the shadow of the flashlight at all… :rofl:
