Review: Eagle eye X6 UPDATED: Lumens & lux after driver mod and heat handling

Neutral.

Thanks :-)

Is this the thread that started all the madness?

It is nice to see Vinh see and use this host as his next line of small yet throwy set of lights, but I hate the price - at least US$100 for one. I know he has to make a profit on it, but is it really worth that much? I guess so because people over there are clambouring to get their hands on one.

Strange enough, no. This (great) review did attract some attention, but then later unknown00101 did a review as well and that one more than this one started the madness

Yeah! What djozz said. The author of this review is a messyheaded nutter anyway... :-)

How slow is the strobe?

Is it about 2 flashes per second?

Recently i bought several of those lights( a month ago, was a flash deal, 15$ per piece), and i was very plecent surpriced
I bought one back in september last year and it was kinda good, then BLF version came, then the X6 host…

So, whats new arround this particular “standart” version as of february 2015:

- the head isnt glued anymore

- build quality is the same

- emitter is exacly as in BLF X6-talking about U2 1A

- the package now includes the lanyard and the rest, exacly as in the BLF package, the one that recieved back in september had only 1 casual lanyard and nothing else

  • the driver:
1 now it has 4 modes, 60ma( kinda moonlight), 500, 1100, 2000ma, wit a hidden strobe( fast one, fast doube click)
After modding the driver with 2x 0805 0.1om resistors, modes now are 70ma, 900, 2400 and 3900ma WITHOUT spring bypass.( Samsung 25r)
The memory mode is last used( has a times, wait at least 2 seconds i think)

Considering the price, its the best offer for now, among the X6 host and BLF version, the mode takes only 5 minutes to make, if you need a copper PCB its 1.5$
