Here is another flashlight I find interesting and was happy to receive for a review. Some of you may find FandyFire logo not too suitable for flashlights or even repulsive and for those of you this mode is also available under SolarStorm SP02 name, anyway, I always had good luck with FandyFire branded products, they performed well, still do :)

Flashlight arrived in nice dedicated cardboard box with foam cushioning which is something I always like to see, it gives me a piece of mind that shipping will go smooth even if some unhappy handling guy decides to play basketball with my package...

As shown, you get lanyard, spare O-ring (would be nice to have them two) and a clip. Clip is very sturdy, hard to put on or take off the flashlight, made out of 0,8mm thick stainless steel, if you are used to use clips you will be satisfied.
Overall quality of machining work is very good, no machining marks, no sharp edges, knurling is moderate, not that this will mean anything since there are only two knurled parts. Anodisation is also very good, everything's the same tint, has a nice feel under the touch, of course it is not at Nitecore or Fenix level but for this price range I would say that they did an excellent work. If I had to guess I would say that SolarStorm/FandyFire Warrior (well known 3 x XM-L flashlight) is made in the same factory and anodised in the same production cycle as SP02.

This flashlight is composed out of a 3 major components: head with emitter and driver, extension tube and end tube with switch on it:

Threads are anodised so you can use any of the joints to lockout the light. Threads are triangular but they are not sharp and when you add small amount of your favorite lubricant (since they came completely dry, but that is expected anyway) disassembling and reassembling will be very smooth and squeakyng free.

Comparing the size this flashlight is very similar to Sunwayman T40CS, 22cm high (15.25cm in 1 x 18650 configuration), narrowest part is 2.25cm wide (extension tube), widest part is flashlights bezel with 6.30cm.

Weight is 310 grams for entire package, 227 grams only flashlight in 2 x 18650 configuration or 198 grams without extension tube, for use with only one battery.

Switch assembly on this light is not made as on others flashlights like C8 where you disassemble it from the inside of the tailcap, this one is a part of the battery tube. There is a 3-pin retention ring from the outer side that holds the switch:

Unfortunately, before I had the chance of finishing this review takin and adding beam shots ... this flashlight was stolen from me.
I will try to find this identical flashlight, order it and finish this review properly

Interesting that it can use either 1 or 2 18650.

Hey Sirius, any update on this?

OMG, I completely forget about this revew :open_mouth: I am sooooo sorry.
Unfortunately this light was stolen from me, some ashole junky broke the side window on my car while I was in the shopping mall. Jerk took my tools case (I had some nice tools that I really liked over there), took this flashlight (and it was in the box with everything inside + 2 brand new NCR18650A cells :_( ) Security cameras on a parking lot caught everything but that was of a little use, stolen stuff has to be over ~$250 of value otherwise cops won’t even consider making a report.
It pisses me off even today when I think about it, it was really nice flashlight, excellent built quality, stupid modes yes but excellent host material. One of these days, after I pay for EC11 nad UF-1504 that I promised to buy I will order new FandFire and finish this review, make it fair to DX.

Wow that sucks.

How did the beam compare to the T40CS? about the same? (if you can remember)

Never actually made to taking bamshots, just by shining around the room I think T401CS was slightly better but with dedoomed led and new (4A+) driver FF could easely outshine the T40. It is excelent host for MTG emitter.
