This is a good point... I got my sample from BangGood and I have not taken the head assembly apart. The LED is almost perfectly centered and unless I have a need or reason I like to leave them perfectly centered.
Yeah if I sit here for awhile I will get it just as centered. It may take a few minutes or it may take half a hour.
I want to put the head in front of the Fluke thermal gun we have in the shop at work before I do anything. Once it warms up a bit I should be able to easily see where the heat is and if it is stationary or if the pill and fins are doing what they are intended to do.
They will not allow me to use one of my own SD cards to record the images but I will try taking photos of the screen. This is also not allowed but I have been there awhile and most of the guys in the shop like watching when I do this so I can probably get a picture or two with my mobile phone.
I don't have any direct contact with Haikelite at the moment.. I may remedy that soon as well.
If anyone does this is a good question. It is possible they do not know.
Gotta know lol... Where did ya get it.. I have looked in spare time for that for several weeks lol for a light I am going to call Frankenstein if I ever get the time to complete it.
Either way I would love to keep a couple of tubes on hand.
I have been using it for about 4 years to fill minor F-ups in Aluminum, it machines really well once fully cured, so I tried it with and in my lights…as a potting material, body filler and to epoxy battery tubes together and such.
Hi Terry, may I know what was the highest temperature?
The picture you shows seems to have abrupt temperature change from the highest temperature to surrounding. Couldn’t that mean heat get trapped?
No it proves nothing about a totally different light that I have neither used, held, touched, or tested.
It does prove without a doubt that at this light's highest setting after 10 minutes it is controlling the heat very well.
This thread is the MT07S. The first and only light from this brand I've tested and agreed to review.
I only post or discuss what I can prove about the product I was asked to evaluate.
It makes no difference to me if they had prior issues with other lights... What company doesn't?
This is a young company and mass producing lights of this type is no easy task.
I can not and will not speak any further on the matter of any light I have not tested myself.
The bottom line this is a review of my findings for model MT07S and it has easily shown to be a solid performer that does everything the manufacturer claims it will do.
I have proven that in every way I have available to me including getting permission to use a $4000.00 Fluke thermal imaging gun fully calibrated.
This light is a total pass and a bargin with the discount provided.
I can find nothing wrong with it at all
That reminds me... I discovered you can go to turbo from any setting even off. Just double click.
For those interested in this light. My honest and true 30 year experienced opinion of the MT07S is if you like it... Buyit. It is worth the retail price and worth more than the discounted price.
No.. top right show the highest recorded temp. That was 118F... A couple of minutes later the same exact spot had dropped by 4 degrees down to 114F. So it ismoving heat.
I was surprised that the temp did not go higher.
Cool down after shutting it off was much faster than I expected. Back to around 90 and 91 degrees after a very short time. So it's shedding heat.
Personally, I won’t buy an HaikeLite flashlight again before seeing a complete teardown, especially since HaikeLite’s customer service doesn’t respond to e-mail.
We don’t know if they took note of this problem and corrected it.
But i’m fine with Terry White’s review, he’s free to do it like he wants.
I can't speak at all for service and if they have an issue with that then if It were my company I would handle that real quick. It can make or break a company.
As for the light... At least the MT07S, at this price even if it had a bad spot because of some guy who does not have a clue what he or she may be doing... The whole, dent what ever we want to refer to it as can be easily fixed.
Ahhh I just happen to stumble onto an answer for anyone wanting to know.
There is a thread that was started a few days ago. Someone is modding an MT07S and you can easily see everything you would want to see.
The thermal shots of my sample show better heat management than lights costing 3 or 4 times this amount.
I have shown what I can to show I believe it to be a good and stable light... And compared to others of this type a huge bargain...
If the one I have here shuts down or has some problem I will be the first to post it. For over 2 weeks now not even a hint of a problem.
