My review of the RovyVon Aurora A28 2nd Gen EDC flashlight, great feature packed flashlight but is is too big to be a keychain light?
Yes, for the A28 size, it’s not a keychain light. Certainly not like the diminutive A5 and A8.
There are definitely some nice upgrades from the G1 to G2.
Feature | G1 | G2 |
---|---|---|
USB | Micro | C |
mAh | 600 | 850 |
buttons | 1 | 2 |
lock | no | yes |
clip | fixed | removable, flippable |
mag | no | yes |
moon | no | yes |
However, at present the G1 has been discounted down to $25 (Amazon), while the G2 is still priced at full retail ($57). You could buy two G1’s for the price of a G2. Seems to me that the gains aren’t that significant.
I have the A28 G1 and it’s a great flashlight. My only real gripe is the lowest front emitter mode is too bright. There is no moonlight. But, the low mode on the side light is reasonably low. Also, the polycarbonate body is not GITD. It’s the battery cage inside that is GITD. It’s weak. BUT… because you can unscrew the head, you can insert some GITD tape or substances for enhancing the glow.
Lastly, the optic is very good, but there’s no glass in front of it. So, it can get scratched up. It’s a good idea to put some minus-green filter on the front to improve the tint and protect the TIR.
