O-rings: Between reflector and lens, body and tail cap, not one between body and head

Features:

1. Black Anodized finish
2. All Aluminum body
3. Aluminum reflector (Smooth) and deep
4. Knurling is good - fills smooth
5. Smooth threads overall
6. Clicky switch is on the firm side - little loud (not a negative though)
7. It has a very tight hot spot (reminds me of spill and hot spot of a XRE Q5 in a C8 but brighter)
8. Transfers heat very well, warms up quickly

11. Clicky switch cover is white, glows in the dark

Negatives

1. The pills fits good but it doesn’t lock in place - it screws in and out freely therefore it moved up while messing with the light and would not allow the bezel to screw all the way down on the head. The best way to set the depth correctly would be to put the reflector in the head then screw down lens and bezel all the way. Then you will be able to screw pill up from the bottom and tighten it from the bottom.
2. The driver looks like it is to big to fit in the end of the pill (see pic). Looks like they might have improvised in this on my light at least but works without a problem so far.
3. Pulled up the led star to check for thermal paste found none (unsoldered led and put thermal past then reinstalled).

Overall:

I bought this light on an impulse. Have been looking for a deep reflectored light something similar to the style of the HS-802 . The first time I turned this light I was amazed! It has a very tight hot spot, smaller then the HD2010 and more focused. The light fills nice in my hand, and is good looking. When testing for throw it will do 175 yards no problem at all. Comparing it with HD2010 at the same distance the HD2010 is brighter but not by a bunch. If it was not for the first two negatives then the over all rating would be around 4.5.

Thanks for posting the review. It’s great that you’re willing to share your experience - especially considering there are so many choices in lights and so few dollars to spend.

Could you include a pic of the light in hand? It just helps get a sense of scale and makes it a little easier to imagine it in use.

Tried to reverse the clip it just slides over the tailcap so its a no go on reversing it………

Tried the SolarForce clip tonight and it does not fit either hangs up on the threads, but with a little filing or dremeling it would work though.

I was in a store yesterday and happened to see and pick up this light. It seemed to have a nice build quality to it, side by side against the nitecore MT26 it was hard to tell the difference in quality if any. Just a brief observation on the machining.
