Reviewed device has a long history, back in the beginning of 20th century the idea of spinning disk with holes was used for experiments of sending video signal.
Utorch FY3D - Z1 utilizes the same idea with spinning bar instead of disk. In the beginning of 2K i saw similar primitive stuff , that was LED clock, where some spinning part produced numbers hanging in the air. Back in those time it looked unusual and attractive.
Time goes by, and now we had 42cm spinning bar with 224 LEDs in Z1 version and 320 LEDs in Z2 versions. There are also biggger and a way more expensive version with 1m long bar.
Below i will review Z1 which is in reality Faryan being sold as Utorch. As long as price is good, who cares what name it has )
PACKAGE AND APPEARANCE
Long box doesnt astonishes with design, it is more “well, ok” rather than “wow!”. I think as device more relate to B2B rather then B2C, that is ok. When you buy thing for business, you don`t care about package design, you need working device.

As the main part of Z1 is spinning plastic bar, full of LEDs, package must provide safety for this part. And it does. Z1 is tightly placed between 2 foam rubbber halves. I have a feeling that i can kick package like soccer ball and nothing will happen.
Package incudes:
1 x Holographic Display, 1 x power adapter, 5 x Screws, wall mount, remote control, 4gb micro-SD with separate card reader.
And here how it looks like

Manufacturer claims 800 lum brightness. Well, all i can say is that i clearly see pic in the daylight,
The rest is obvious. Ther!e is a motor in the bottom part, that spins the bar, 1000 spins per minute \ 16.6 per second. With classical “frame by frame” movie that would lead to mmm…“twitching” as we need at least 24fps to provide smooth movement. But here picture changes with something loke vawe, and in each moment of time pic changes at the widht of LED. The rest of pic is the same, as human as has some momentum, we see this like smooth movement. As far as i understand, the same idea is used in modern LED projectors.
As i mentioned, here in 42cm long bar placed 224LEDs and in Z2 there are 320 of them , which should significatnly increase detalization. Nevertheless, i can say (and you can see it at video yourself) that even 224 LEDs gave picture clear enough for it`s advertising purposes. No small details like letters, but it can handle with about 10cm and larger numbers\letters. As i suppose that in real use device will be about 1-2 meteres away from human eye, it is definetely ok.
Frankly speaking, device look really simple. Just foundation with motor and spinning bar upon it. Looks simple, but i bet that there are a lot of hard work beside this simplicity. I tried to disassemble it, no succes. I unscrewed these 4 screwes and this just let plastic cover move up to spinning bar. So i assume i have to fully disassemble the last one to get to some detail which keeps pin and foundation.
So in situation of repair you have to consider this.
From one side that`s is good, because details are connected tightly and i dont see any tiniest backlash here. No bad sounds in work process, nothing bad at all.
Device looks simple, yes, but well build as well. That is all i can tell you without full disassembling (i`d try, but sure i will not be able construct it back -) )
I suppose that once you pay 300$ for this, chances that biuld quality is good are quite high.
what else. Z1 is NOT waterproof and is only for indooor use. Manufacturer said me they work on waterproof version as well. You can place device in some sort of box, like at photo below to keep it from water and, which is important as well, from fingers that i bet someone will poke to check if moving picture is really holographic or not. That would breake both finger and bar.

Power source gives 12v\3A and has about 1.5m cable length.

wall mount is simplest, but 100% reliable, it fits Z1 tightly.
HOW TO USE
Relly simple. Just plug power cable into device, press button on the remote controle and enjoy. 2nd button will turn Z1 off. On\Off, that`s it.
Z2 has wi-fi connection, so i think there will be an opportunity to use some app to choose picture.
But for advertising needs that is ok anywhere, you just upload your hamburger\logo and something like this, and let it move endlessly in air.
How to convert your pic\video\GIF into *.BIN file that this device understand? I mentioned 4gb microsd that included in package, there is folder with software.
copy it anywhere, open and just import file you need. Then zoom in\out to adjust size to 42cm and click “ok”. Then you only need to set cycle number and choose whether you want to upload it to SD separately or as big *.BIN file with other converterd pics.
There is a simple text\graphic redactor pard in this programme. it will be enough in need to make rotating words.
See final part of video i included it there.
Z1 in work
again, 1000 spins per minute, 16.6 per sec.
See video, you`ll see there demo file being played and some GIFs that i converted. I simple searched for “3D gif” and found a lot. BTW, be sure backgground is black or transparent to maximise “holographick” feeling. You cannot see a movie with Z1, but it`s purpose is another and for it - Z1 does it`s job! 155 degrees FOV is enough for giving feeling that moving picture is hanging in the air.
I hope that in next decade we`ll finally come to this:

But now we`ve got what we`ve got and that is cool as well. I seriously think that as a demo-device, advertising 3d projector it`ll draw attention of customers to your selling point or store.
See my video review to check how it performes.
feel free to ask any question.
