REVIEW www.cutter.com.au

Hi!!!! I have received my order placed on 9/11/2011 on www.cutter.com.au and todays on 28/11/2011 i have received!!!! Very fast for australia to canada and ordered on 6/11/2011 and shipped on 7/11/2011!!!

I should get my two XML-U2 this week or next week....

My order is perfect Take a look on the pictures and all is brand news in perfect condition on 20MM star but for one LED (XML-EZW-U4 i found a defect). The communication with the seller is very good no problem no delay A+++++++.

Now Take a look on the XML, russthetoolman and me have found a defect, the large gap between 2 dies in the bottom, i will go get a refund for this and i will go back to you, if all is ok after for the costumer service and for complete my review on Cutter website.

Well I am very happy to have found this site that I trust that this will be the proper Bin and LED.

****For your information ,the first pic is a non-defect XML and the second and the LAST is my defect XML****

Some of the best emitters I have came from Cutter, great vendor.

thanks for doing the Cutter group buy for canada ...".yer a swell guy "

:)

My order came from Newark, not this group buy a month ago.

I am wanting to know if others have my same results.

I have 3 XML-EZ White leds that have a larger gap between two dies than the others, like in the photo above and it resulted in a defect in the beam after building my light with one.

I researched on Cree's website, the stock photo, and it doesn't have the larger gap inbetween two dies.

I got a refund from Newark, which surprised me, and was told to wait until the reel got used up more to see if the QC changed.

I am trying to get a definitive answer if the larger gap between two dies is normal or a defect.

Thanks

Russ

Now I have to learn how to watch this thread, I am new on this forum, old at CPF.

Thanks!!

i found this defect me too, I thought it was normal. i will go ask for a refund for this xml. Your contact it is Elaine Wong??

thanks bye

I am not sure who Elaine Wong is?

It's the responsable of order....on cutter

This is the beamshot of the defect XML in a Trustfire T8 with SST-50 Drivers.....im not sure if is correct but The XML-EZW-u4 is not very bright....more that on the pic but not very bright ....

I got my xml-ezw from a different company in the usa called newark.com

I did not notice, visually, the gap until I built a light with the xml-ezw and saw a line on the wall, more like a "T" not the "cross" of the mce.

I then looked at the led after seeing the visual line on the wall and then saw the gap difference, it looks like the one die "slipped" a little when assembled. I inspected my two other xml-ezw's and they were showing the same gap.

I may need to find time and call Cree and inquire about the gap.

You found the picture on their website that I saw.

I hope I didn't cause a problem in your thread, I should have PM'd instead.

I am trying to learn this forum's layout and how to navigate, I'm too used to CPF, trying to change that :)

At least I felt comfortable asking over here, I don't at CPF, I'd probably be banned for saying anything derogatory against Cree like "gap" :)

Cool light!!

The xml-ezw comes in two voltages, 6 and 12. the driver in your light for an SST 50 is more like 4v max but like 4 or 5 amps, so maybe the xml, if 6 volt version, isn't getting the volts it's needs.

I used a surefire KL6 head and driver, replacing the luxV (2S2P) and it was WAY brighter and beautiful warm tint.

An XML, non ezWhite would go in place of the sst50 better.

Hope that helps :)

The EZ XM-Ls from cutter are 12v. Atleast the 3000K U3 I got is. Not sure about the U4 one they have.

I looked into ordering from Cutter a few times in the past but I refuse to order from a company that charges more for domestic shipping than international shipping.
