In the last days of 2021, the number of clips shared about my flashlight is also nearly 200 clips. Still passionate about light, but for a long time, no flashlight has made me feel as excited as Nextool’s latest flashlight.

I like Nextool’s symmetrical design. The square design combined with a modern and nostalgic knob has attracted me at first sight.
1. Brightness
- There are 3 buttons above the light. In the middle is the light switch. Simple on/off operation. We will hold the buttons for 0.5s to turn it on/off. I like this design, it limits the situation of accidentally turning off the lights or turning on unwanted lights.
Nextool has a wide color temperature range from 2700K to 6500K. For camping, I will choose a color temperature of 3000K for a cozy feeling. For work, I choose a neutral color temperature of 5000K. Color temperature selection is simple with the white dial.
- Nextool equipped with 2 leds. The front is a COB led with a maximum brightness of 1800 lumens. The side LED as a flashlight has a maximum brightness of 1000 lumens, projecting up to 170m by using a TIR lens.
- In addition, nextool’s COB led cluster is also equipped with red light emitting LEDs with a maximum brightness of 85 lumens. I have read an article on the subtle red light is good for the eyes. I’ll try it someday and give feedback.
- To adjust the color temperature and brightness we will use 2 white knobs. The feeling of rotation is very good, with this type of stepless control, I can easily choose the desired brightness and color temperature.
- LED COB dimmable from 25 lumens to 1800lumens
- Dimmable red LED from 0.5 lumens to 85 lumens
- Dimmable flashlight from 30 lumens to 1000 lumens
2. Design
- Equipped with a 13500 mAh battery at 3.6V equivalent to 48.6Wh, made mainly of aluminum but the Nextool’s weight is quite light at only 497g.
- Can be mounted on a tripod. 360 degree adjustable handle makes lighting more efficient.
- Premium finish
- With a single button, you can switch between working modes: COB LED, red led, flashing red light, flashlight. Then that button also allows me to check the battery capacity when the light is off by pressing 1 time. It’s great, isn’t it?
- The light has good durability when it can survive a drop from a height of 1m and is IPX5 . waterproof
- Nextool gives us a very nice box with a waterproof lock.
- Led COB is protected by glass and the white circle protrudes very high. It does not lose the aesthetic of the lamp, but makes the lamp look more beautiful. This point is very commendable for Nextool
3. Features
- When turned on, Nextool will always enter the neutral color temperature by combining 2 yellow (2700K) and white (6500K) leds. It won’t take us too long to choose a neutral color temperature.
- When turning on the Nextool light also puts us in a low brightness (about 82 lumens). I like this. Let’s say when we wake up at night and turn on the light with a brightness of 1800 lumens it is extremely annoying
- We can use the lamp as a power bank with fast charging current up to 15W (I have measured up to 16W). The power bank feature works with both A and C ports on the light.
- Unlike some flashlights I’ve used, can’t be charged with a C-C cable. We can charge Nextool with C-C cable at many different voltages such as: 5V=3A, 9V=2A, 12V=1.5A
- The long lighting time is also what I like about this lamp
- LED COB: brightness 1800 lumens for 5.5h continuous operation, 25 lumens for 150h operation
- Flashlight: 1000 lumens of brightness for 18h continuous operation, 30 lumens for 200h operation
- Red LED: Brightness 85 lumens for 23h continuous operation, 0.5 lumens for 900h operation
- Nextool also has the feature to automatically reduce the brightness when the temperature is high. I tested and found that the body temperature of the lamp is always below 45 degrees Celsius. Comfortable to move without waiting for the lamp to cool.
4. Uses
- With Nextool’s design, I can use it when the power goes out at home, when camping, as an auxiliary light when filming, live stream, repairing things at night… a lot of situations can be used
==>Things I don’t like
There are a few points if you don’t scold yourself for asking too much, then nextool will be a perfect lamp.
- The first is the low-morning. I think the light down temperature of the lamp is a bit low. With the handle, the temperature drops to 60 degrees, I think is more reasonable. And it would be great if nextool allows us to set the dimmer temperature. I like to maintain high brightness for a long time.
- Nice box but easy to get dirty
