Reylight BLF GT 1.7 M cd, 2600 m ANSI throw @ 120 W (FL8032P Gen 1)

Reylight BLF GT mod: 4S full constant-current driver paired with Super LED+ FL8O32P Gen 1. Projected intensity from spectrometer data hits 1,700,000 cd, yielding an ANSI rated throw distance of 2,600 meters. PS: Not pushed to the absolute limit — this is at a sweet-spot power of 120 W. The binning consistency on these LEDs is excellent, a dream for perfectionists.

That is Epic! Thank you for sharing your build.

Pretty awesome.

I need to know this voodoo that you do so I can mod my GT70 and see if light rays will bounce off the ionosphere.

What kind of led is this?
Not familiar with this naming. where did you get it ??

Also curious.

Just to sanity-check the math: the GT has a 118mm reflector, and the optical losses are at least 10%. So in order to get 1.7Mcd out of it, the surface luminance of the LED must exceed

1.7Mcd / (pi* 59^2 mm^2) / (1-10%) = 172 cd/mm^2.

In comparison, the LHP73B registered 151 cd/mm^2 at 100W. Since OP said 120W is a sweet spot, this new emitter must be larger+floodier than the LHP73B while beating it in throw, which really would be something.
