I’m looking for an Convoy H1 with a red emitter option. The S2+ has this as an option using the CSLNM1 or SST-20. However, I can’t seem to find this emitter for the H1. The Skilhunt H03C RC has a red emitter but it was not really adjustable like a pure CSLNM1 package would be.
I would message Simon and ask but I’m pretty sure the answer will be no. He did just recently come out with a special driver for the low forward voltage of red emitters, but it’s 17mm and isn’t configured for the e-switch. So it’s not an easy drop in that he might be willing to do for you as he does with many requests. I think that light uses 20mm or 22mm for the driver, which could probably be adapted down to 17 with brass ring adapters but I don’t know if the switch could actually be added via solder points or not…likely not. That would be a bit above First Mod skill, though.
Wurkkos is an offshoot of the Sofirn company/factory and has brought out some quite nice lights. Their HD15 headlamp is more compact than the Convoy, has dual emitters, and they offer a version that has the red emitter (the HD15R…choice of host colors as well). They had some great coupons for us on here that brought their headlamps down to a great price, either on amazon or via their website…might still be able to get a code if you ask them in their thread, if the light suits you.
I was hoping the DW4 would be a bit less chunky than it is…almost bought one immediately until I saw the dimensions. I don’t think I’ve seen reviews on it but I’m sure it’s as excellent as all his other lights. Good stuff.
You could install a red LED in a Convoy H1 yourself, if you wanted to. My Osram W1 Red runs great on an 8x7135 driver, and Hank has been running SST20 Deep Reds on his linear drivers for awhile, so they don’t HAVE to have the lower voltage driver.
