Here is Prince ripping off a great solo in the George Harrison tune “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”
Rest in peace.

Another sad day… Too many stars going into the sky lately.
Such an amazing man. Bent just about everything he touched and did it with style.
Thank you for sharing that clip KIL.
RIP to a legend and icon in the music world...forever remembered
Amazing entertainer. Thanks for the video.
KeepingItLight, glad you started this thread, was going to do it myself yesterday but didn’t. Prince is my all time favorite artist and I’ve had a lot of great memories from attending his concerts and the aftermath. Have seen him 8 or 9 times staring around 1980 or 1981 before he was famous and all the shows were awesome. The 80’s shows were better before he got real spiritual but all were great. Would have gone to the Atlanta show a week ago if I had known about it, thanks to Ticketmaster’s no notification system. Prince, Frey(big Eagles fan also), Bowie, and Haggard, not so good year so far for musicians.
I was surprised to hear that he was alone in his property, I would’ve thought there would be some security staff or someone else in the building.
^^^ Thanks, southland, for posting the video from 1982.
Wow! I wish I had been in the house for that performance. I have no doubt that when Prince challenged his audience to, "Do something," there were many women who responded! It must have been like a Rolling Stones concert when the band strikes up "Honky Tonk Women." In case you have never seen it, I can assure you, things get very interesting.
I saw Prince only once, about 15 years ago. I had always stayed away because of the pretense and posing that Prince includes in his act. In general, I don't care for performers who use tricks to try to please an audience. I want to see musicians, not entertainers. I have an expression I often use that captures this sentiment. "Mr. Entertainer, entertain thyself. Leave me alone!" Don't try to please me. Please yourself (if you still can). You don't have to worry. If some good music starts happening, I will notice.
Of course, I was blown away by the Prince concert. Sure, he included more BS than I usually like, but, man!, the guy could play. Vocals, guitar, keyboards, composition, arranging, and, yes, even his dancing, was all great!
He was a real musician.
