Rofis TC1 battery issues (rapid loss of standby charge)

I have recently been asked by multiple people about an issue they are having with their Rofis TC1 keychain flashlight.
So im asking for help, if anyone else is having the same issue please can you confirm the issue and what makes it better or worse as im puzzled right now.

The issue:
The repeating message im getting is people saying they charge the TC1 and even if they don’t use it the battery is dead within a week.
Some say 3 to 4 days, maybe they live is a different temp zone that makes it happen faster i don’t know.
So right now I have x2 TC1 and I have fully charged them and will see what happens after a week the first one I am using the lock feature and the second one I am leaving unlocked. Neither of them will have that beacon blue pulse running on the capacitive touch area.

I have written to Rofis to ask if this is a known issue and i notice my Rofis in my lights case is indeed dead and I have only charged it a few weeks ago and it was fine then.
So any comments from users having issues might help find out the cause of this as im puzzled right now. They cant blame the tiny 10180 battery as my Klarus mini one uses a 10180 and its a great little light.

This light uses a capacitive switch, correct? If so, there’s likely always some latent standby current. This is the same as all e-switch lights… Just usually they have bigger batteries.

I also have this lamp.
Three days after the charge is discharged.
BG, where I bought the flashlight silent and did not respond. True reviews have not gone censorship.
The result is that I will not buy anything from Rofis even though I have five lamps from this brand.
Quality has decreased and sells an unusable product.

Had the same problem. Took it apart and threw away the light and battery is in recycle bag.
The voltage was too low to try to use in my KooYoo.

I mentioned this issue in this group buy/M4D deal thread - which is where I bought 2 of these torches; not sure if I made a faux pas by highlighting it there, or if nobody else was concerned, but it didn’t prompt any response.

I tend to try and test the torch regularly and also try to ensure I charge at least once a fortnight, though to be honest it’s becoming too much trouble and I may go back to my Cooyoo Quantum, which is a shame as I otherwise really like the little Rofis. It’s a double shame as I bought an extra one to gift, but would not want to give it away with this issue.

I’m guessing that despite what I imagine is ‘only’ around 100mAh of battery, the quiescent current must be poor and in the very high microamp to low milliamp range to cause it to be totally flat in 1-2 weeks. If indeed that’s the issue, then I do feel a little duped by Rofis who I cannot believe were/are not aware of the problem.

Yes i think so, this could be a design flaw then. il see what my testing results in but its not looking good from reports. I was hoping there could be a fix because bar this issue i really liked this light.

I agree with you i like this light, but this issue is totally unacceptable. as i have mentioned i have a 10180 cell klarus and that lasts no problem in storage. If this is so common it feels strange that Rofis cant be aware of the issue i have not had any reply yet but will keep trying. It has certainly soured me against the brand for now.

It is impossible that Rofis did not know about the problem.
They had made lamps, so they made us fools and they sold us. Money is a priority, decency to the end. There is always someone who buys it.
Other Rofis products will not be for me anymore!

I have the same issue with my Rofis R2. Had used it for a few months before I started to notice the problem just a couple weeks ago that the torch completely discharged the 1,000mah 14500 vapcell in just a few days. I switched to use the original protected 14500 that came with the pack and the battery was discharged to 3.5 volts in just 2-3 days with super light use (used low mode most of the time). Let’s see how thing will go. I think I won’t buy from them again.

Persevered with mine until last week; it now seems to expire in less than a week and will likely receive a slight technical adjustment with a lump hammer. Quiescent current has to be expected with an electronic button, but with such a tiny battery I laboured under the illusion it would be low microamps; I can’t believe Rofis were anything other than fully aware of this (relatively) high drain which renders an otherwise great torch, totally useless.

I have now gone back to my old Cooyoo Quantum; I have another NIB TC1 that I would not even give as a gift

No more rofis-EVER. Light had very little use, and I regularly charge it. Battery life is 1-2 days
Can battery be changed?

Please read previous posts again, and think. The fault is not in the battery itself. It’s the switch.
THAT is draining the battery. Buy as much new batteries as you like. They will be drained too.

I’d say its a problem with the design. The capacitor type touch switch drain is probably too much for such a small battery.

An earlier light of similar design had the same issues.
